I can't get the water to flow. The water will run through the hose but then it only goes so far and then stops. The other hose will not auction. I have only had this canister about two months.
It would be best if you called in so we could ask you some questions, but here are some tips:
- clean out the vinyl tubing in case it is plugged
- clean out the nozzles, all four of them, on the valve block in case they are clogged
- remove the impeller and soak it in vinegar for about 10 minutes, swab out the motorhead with a q tip and vinegar
- make sure the tank water level is to the top
- check the o ring on the motor head and the ones on the valve block nozzles
Our number is 1-800-322-1266 if you are unable to resolve this with these tips.

Hello, one of my rubber tips that go on the ends of the white impeller rod is gone. The pump still work fine but I would like to replace the black rubber tip instead of buying a whole new impeller. Can you just purchase those tips?
Unfortunately, no, you would need to purchase the entire assembly.

Where can I find instructions on how to replace the impeller on a C160 canister filter?
My canister filter has stopped siphoning and I can not for the life of me get it to work again. Before it all started happening the flow on the output started to slowdown and then it just stopped. I cleaned it, replaced the tubing and it never worked again. I can hear it running, but nothing is coming out. I'm using it for a turtle, so the water doesn't go all the way to the top, but that was never an issue before. I'm going to clean and replace the impeller before I run out and get a new filter. Any advice would be helpful.
Open the canister and remove the motorhead. Flip it over. On the underside there is a circular cover with Open and Close written on it and arrows pointing in different directions. Turn this in the direction of open. Remove the cover, pull out the impeller. There will be a strong magnetic pull but it should come out with your hand only, no tools needed. Make sure it is intact and that the shaft it slides on is also intact. Clean with hot water, distilled white vinegar and a q tip, inside the motorhead, and soak the impeller in vinegar, for about 10 minutes.
To prime these filters, the water level should be near the top of the tank. I've used them for turtles also, but I fill the tank up almost to the top, then drain some back out after priming.

No water flow
I have a C-160 canister I have no water flow I have stripped and cleaned impeller spins free no air in lines motor seems to be working. Can you help me out. I have a sump in with this tank
Make sure the valve block is not blocked as well. Remove the tubing from it, and using a q tip, clean out all four valves on the valve block, then soak it for about 10 minutes in a dilute vinegar solution.
