.If i dont have the cover on it doesnt do anything if i spin it manually it will spin for a short period and stop.If i Put The impeller cover on it does nothing at all its not sucking up water or anything is the motor shot or is it the impellor I've only had it for about a year and my substrate is sand also my primer is stuck in the down position..I took the motor head off the canister and plugged it up and it does nothing...no noise the impellor doesn't spin or anything do I need a whole new filter? ?? If so I'm upset because I've only had it a yr...
Remove the impeller. Check under the magnet and the blades for any sand. Soak it in distilled white vinegar for 15 minutes. Take a q tip and/or toothpick and clean out the little hole it sits in, up in the motorhead. Make sure there is no sand or debris/sludge all the way up to the top of this little hole. Remove the valve block, and with a q tip, clean out each of the four nozzles, then soak the valve block in a 50:50 distilled vinegar solution for about 15 minutes. Try the filter again. As long as you are getting a sound, vibration, etc, the motor itself is fine, you may just need a new impeller. Contact us.
In regards to the primer button, put the motorhead onto the canister, push it down like you are going to connect the handles, pull up on the two lift handles, gently, but steadily until they are straight up and just past that point. You should hear a whoosh sound when pressure is released. You may need to do this 2-3 times before you get that sound. Again, be gentle, but steady. Don't jerk them up, and don't force them past where they can go.
