Thank you for your question! Excess bubbles can occur for a number of reasons, so check the following to make sure everything is correct:
- c clamp on the intake tube may need to be tighten a little bit
- tubing should push over the barb AND over the threads on the valve block, otherwise, there is a gap that will constantly pull in air.
- if the filter is brand new, the filter may be purging air, and this can take 1-3 days to complete, depending on how it was set up, etc.
In regards to the tubing, you should only have a 2" slack in it. If the tubing loops below the motorhead, you definitely want to cut some excess off of it, as this could be your issue. No, do not leave it kinked - this can cause an issue down the road.
