Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works I was skeptical at first, funny considering that most of my fish tank products are marineland. I noticed the fish that had any signs of sickness or stress were gone. This is after doing a major overhaul. Keeping this stocked.

Can this be used in a saltwater aquarium

Asked by: jae123cuba
Jae123Cuba, Yes, this product would need to be used in the tap water before the salt was added to create the saltwater parameters that you are trying to reach. Christina

We went from a 46 gal tank with 2 four inch Oscars with no problems. Our new 75 gal water turns green within 2 wks. All toys have been washed & dried. Tank scrubbed. I have tried everything Pet Smart can give us. Help?

Asked by: Dan Pruett
Hello again Dan! When you moved the fish, did you take the old water from the 46 and use it in the 75? Did you add a bacterial supplement? 8" of fish in a brand new 75 with all brand new water would create a lot of waste very fast, with very minimal amount of bacteria to assist in breaking it down. I responded to your other post with suggestions. Cut back on the food, and add the Marineland Bio Spira Freshwater Bacteria. BREX

Age Eliminator how much per gallon do I use

Asked by: Ed jr
Thank you for your question! One drop per gallon of water or one teaspoon per 60 gallons. It is a very concentrated chemical and does not take much. Make sure the aquarium is well aerated and remove your carbon for 4-6 hours. BREX

How does it remove chloramines

My tap water is treated with chloramines. How does Marineland water conditioner remove chloramines? Does it produce ammonia as a byproduct (like sodium thiosulfate does) ? If so, does bacteria (like bio spira or safe start) also need to be added every time water is added...even with smaller amounts like for evaporation?
Asked by: Sadfish
All water coniditoners "remove" chloramines the same way. They break the bond, remove the chlorine, and the resulting ammonia is removed by your biological filter. You typically do not need to add bacteria to help remove this ammonia because your biological filter is already working on it within moments. If you do a large water change, or tank is stressed for some other reason, then yes, we would recommend Tetra Safe Start Plus to help boost it. BREX
