Hang On Tank canister filters are ideal for maximizing space inside your aquarium.

HOT (Hang On Tank) Magnum® is an efficient, powerful, compact canister filter that is lightweight enough to hang directly on the back of your aquarium.

Because it is a Magnum, it comes feature-packed with the ability to convert with ease from a continuous duty mechanical and chemical utility filter, to a water polishing filter with micron filtration capability. Comes complete with a Carbon/Media Container and Water Polishing Micron Cartridge, and it is available in models with, and without BIO-Wheel wet/dry filtration.

HOT Magnum® Filters is rated 3.913 out of 5 by 23.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long standing product made better with switch on off. This filter been out for long time. It's a great help and even does gravel vac. Love micron filter because you can keep reusing after cleaning. Never tired of this filter. Believe me I've tried all of them. I like bio wheel attachment also. All around filter for all passion. Great cleaning, filtering, great for bacterial set up. Thank you Marineland.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant product Over 12 plus years while on holiday in Florida I have bought five H.O.T. Magnum filters. They are all still in operation in my fish house. As they are on UK 230v mains I employ a 110v transformer. They are extremely efficient with a superb output.easily cleaned and moved from tank to tank as required. I am also still using the original rite size filter sleeves. I am however disappointed to read that it is now discontinued but look forward to seeing its replacement which will be hard put to equal the performance and reliability of the Magnum. (I have 30 tanks)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I thought this filter would work great for me. I was wrong. I bought this filter after my magnum 330 finally died after about 30 years. I have never been so disappointed in a purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent filter that does a little bit of everything! I have had this filter for many years. Everything about this filter is awesome. One of the "features" that nobody mentions is water changes. I turn the filter offf, direct the output hose out of the aquarium and just hold a bucket under it till it is almost full and then hit the power switch on the back and empty. No more dipping buckets, cups, etc. into the aquarium. Water polishing and a media basket just round this out so I can use whatever media I have at home. Mine has lasted forever save having to get a new impeller once.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good filters, keep their flowrate for a ong time These are unique in that they are a canister type filter, but at the same time they hang on the back on a tank. They work great and keep their flow rate for a very long time. The only downside of these filters is the relatively small media basket. This is due to the fact that the filter housing is half a circle instead of a full circle. This cuts the volume inside in half versus a true round basket. Therefore I recommend to always use 2 of these on a tank: 1 for biological filtration and 1 for chemical/mechanical filtration.

For some reason I cannot get mine to run properly The bio wheels run for a day or two and stop  it's just not running correctly and I need help I've done everything I know to do done everything in the book to troubleshoot

Asked by: HMC1984
The best thing to do is call in with the filter in front of you so we can do some troubleshooting and have you try a few things while on the phone. 1-800-322-1266. However, here are some tips:- remove impeller and clean it, and the bottom of the canister with distilled white vinegar, Soak the impeller for about 20 minutes- maintain water level in tank at top of the tank- remove vinyl tubing and either replace it (depending on age) or clean it out.- clean intake tubing out- remove bio wheel, and take a qtip and very gently wipe the excess sludge off of it, clean bio wheel bearings and lube them with silicone lubricant.- check or replace D ring, o ring on intake tube.BREX

Is the Marineland model 250 magnum h.o.t. canister filter (Product (3465) still available. If so. where can it be purchased?

Asked by: seabiscuit
No, it is discontinued, and no longer available. It was a recent discontinuation though, so some smaller, local type fish stores may still have some in stock, but the big chains are out of stock, permanently.BREX

Is the HOT Magnum still available? My second one just stopped working and I cannot seem to find a replacement one anywhere.

Asked by: cctx
No, unfortunately, it was discontinued a few months ago. There may still be some for sale at local shops, but all of the major ones are probably permanently out.BREX

I have used the same hot magnum for my 50 gal tank for the last 15 years. It recently is experiencing plastic fatigue. I have tried to find a new one but have found it unavailable. Particularly petco has said it was discontinued. Where can I find it

Asked by: Mdunn
It has indeed been discontinued. There may be some still on shelves because it was a recent discontinuation, less than a year, but you would need to search local fish stores, not chain stores. We do have something better coming out, but it is still in the works.BREX

This unit is a discontinued one and is no longer available for sale. It is a fairly recent discontinuation so some may still be on fish and pet store shelves. Average retail is around $60-$85.BREX
