Hang On Tank canister filters are ideal for maximizing space inside your aquarium.

HOT (Hang On Tank) Magnum® is an efficient, powerful, compact canister filter that is lightweight enough to hang directly on the back of your aquarium.

Because it is a Magnum, it comes feature-packed with the ability to convert with ease from a continuous duty mechanical and chemical utility filter, to a water polishing filter with micron filtration capability. Comes complete with a Carbon/Media Container and Water Polishing Micron Cartridge, and it is available in models with, and without BIO-Wheel wet/dry filtration.

HOT Magnum® Filters is rated 3.9583 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this filter My filters are still going strong after 20 years. I have filters that do not have the on/off switch. That switch causes more problems. It goes out too soon. I will stick with my old filters without the on/off switch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long standing product made better with switch on off. This filter been out for long time. It's a great help and even does gravel vac. Love micron filter because you can keep reusing after cleaning. Never tired of this filter. Believe me I've tried all of them. I like bio wheel attachment also. All around filter for all passion. Great cleaning, filtering, great for bacterial set up. Thank you Marineland.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant product Over 12 plus years while on holiday in Florida I have bought five H.O.T. Magnum filters. They are all still in operation in my fish house. As they are on UK 230v mains I employ a 110v transformer. They are extremely efficient with a superb output.easily cleaned and moved from tank to tank as required. I am also still using the original rite size filter sleeves. I am however disappointed to read that it is now discontinued but look forward to seeing its replacement which will be hard put to equal the performance and reliability of the Magnum. (I have 30 tanks)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I thought this filter would work great for me. I was wrong. I bought this filter after my magnum 330 finally died after about 30 years. I have never been so disappointed in a purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent filter that does a little bit of everything! I have had this filter for many years. Everything about this filter is awesome. One of the "features" that nobody mentions is water changes. I turn the filter offf, direct the output hose out of the aquarium and just hold a bucket under it till it is almost full and then hit the power switch on the back and empty. No more dipping buckets, cups, etc. into the aquarium. Water polishing and a media basket just round this out so I can use whatever media I have at home. Mine has lasted forever save having to get a new impeller once.

Broke media container. Difficult to assemble but worked. Last time I cleaned filter the cover didn't sit flush & filter wouldn't power on. Is there a way to test motor w/o unit fully assembled? Don't want to buy new media container if the motor's shot.

Asked by: Red minor tetra
Yes, take everything apart and clean the impeller assembly, and the reservoir it sits in. Then plug the motor in, and drop the impeller down into it. If it spins, vibrates, hums, etc., your motor is fine. If there is no sound or motion, then you have an issue with the motor.BREX

We have owned an H.O.T. Magnum canister filter for a number of years. The bottom plate around the impeller hole measures 1.5" across. Pleated filters measure 1.25" across the whole. The two don't fit. Who changed what when?

Asked by: jonztank
I am not sure why you would have a micron cartridge not fitting. We have not made any changes to either the cartridge or the filter in over a decade. The only change that has occurred is that the HOT Magnum is now discontinued.BREX

I love my H O T and need another. The 350 model shows a bio wheel on picture on box. Is it a separate part from the canister filter?

Asked by: Suzyandibbob
Both filter systems are discontinued, but the bio wheel came with the filter system, not separate from it.BREX

Why was the hot magnum discontinued?

Asked by: koitoy
Marineland strives to create innovate, quality products, and we felt it was time to bring something new to the table. Therefore, we came out with the Magnum Internal Polishing Filter, and discontinued both the Hot Magnum and the Magnum 350.BREX

I am trying to locate one and buy it for my tank, I live in Dallas Texas, dose any one know where I can find one and buy it, Thank you for any help on this

Asked by: roger williams
This is a discontinued filter. You would need to enter your zip code in the dealer locator and contact the various stores in the Dallas area to see if any still have it in stock or not. It was discontinued less than a year ago.BREX

For some reason I cannot get mine to run properly The bio wheels run for a day or two and stop  it's just not running correctly and I need help I've done everything I know to do done everything in the book to troubleshoot

Asked by: HMC1984
The best thing to do is call in with the filter in front of you so we can do some troubleshooting and have you try a few things while on the phone. 1-800-322-1266. However, here are some tips:- remove impeller and clean it, and the bottom of the canister with distilled white vinegar, Soak the impeller for about 20 minutes- maintain water level in tank at top of the tank- remove vinyl tubing and either replace it (depending on age) or clean it out.- clean intake tubing out- remove bio wheel, and take a qtip and very gently wipe the excess sludge off of it, clean bio wheel bearings and lube them with silicone lubricant.- check or replace D ring, o ring on intake tube.BREX
