Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cracked canister I have had my c-360 since January. The prime button has stopped working like it should, and now my canister has a large crack in the bottom. The filter has never been knocked over or abused, how it cracked I don't know, hopeing to have it replaced with warranty... I love the filter it's super quiet and I loose way less water than I did with a regular filter, but I'm super disappointed that I'm already having issues...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If you like a filter that leaks, this one is for y This is the second C 360 in two years. First one was replace because of leakage after one year. Seals were replaced but still leaked. Second one started leaking about 6 months and now if power goes out the filter pours out tank water. Not only it leaks all over the Oak hard flooring, it has discolor and flowing will have to be replaced. I have the sitting in a large tub under fish tank and this past weekend, the power went out and about 15 gallons of salt water overflowed on to hard wood floor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ready, get set, goT to return it!! Bought this tonight and was really excited to hook it up to my L-046 Zebra pleco tank before they arrived over night. Wasn't that hard putting everything together and it was a good thing I tested the primer button on it before cutting any hoses. Won't pump, won't move. Not a very good start to this relationship. After trying to call the 800 number and learning they close before most people arrive home from work I've decided to return it tomorrow and get a FLUVAL like I have on my other tank.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It works, I'll give it that I bought the C360 in an emergency. It filters a 90 gallon aquarium. Fitting the head is a bear, a real PITA. It binds hard to the top tray and takes a LOT of effort to seat. I don't mind the specific tray placement (arrow guides provided), but the head mount effort is a deal breaker for me. I've had it a year, and I'm considering an Eheim unit. That said, Marineland parts purchase is a DREAM compared to Eheim's. I own an Eheim classic canister, and had to get a seal kit (the original emergency). Parts from Eheim was a horrendous experience. I guess it's a tradeoff - poor head fitment on Marineland vs disgusting parts access for Eheim. Oh, I forgot, the tubing is huge, and stiff as a board. You have to warm the tubing in very hot water to get it over the bar bends, and heaven help you if you have to get it off again. The plastic tubing clamps are quite inadequate and I had to use automotive hose clamps to keep air from getting sucked into the intake side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super support I was having some leaking problems with my c-360 filter, so I contacted the customer service department. Not only did they help but they were very quick in their response. I have dealt with other customer service departments and when you send an email you wait days to get a response. Their response came within hours and within a day the problem was resolved. They went above and beyond expectations by replacing the parts that were not operating properly. Within in a week of the initial contact I had the replacement parts and now the filter is operating magnificently. I would highly recommend the filter as well as the excellent customer service that came with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't be happier. I've had my c160 for close to about 5 years. It's a great canister filter. Still running flawlessly. When I first purchased it through user error the hoses weren't installed properly and it leaked a tad because of me. I called marineland and they helped me fix my problem and even sent out new hoses as geture of good faith. Marineland has always stood behind their products and will gladly go an extra 10 miles to ensure customer satisfaction. I'm so pleased with this company that am setting up another aquarium in another room and will be purchasing an additional canister.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy C 220 is garbage. I measured the flow when it was new. Flow was under 120 g.p.h. should have been 220. Now it's less then 40 gal per hour. No matter what I do, the flow doesn't increase. Compete junk. Store won't return it. I'll never buy anything from marineland ever again.

Hi we were gaven aquaruim with the 350 cansiter but when we set it up there was no water coming out and the raffling sound is really loud! There is no water coming out of the tubes also? What should we do?

My c160 is producing hot water.  I have it in a 30 tank.  Is his normal.

No, there is nothing on this filter that will cause water going through it to heat up. The water passes through extremely quickly and would not have time to "heat up". At this time of year, warmer water is fairly common, due to outside temps.BREX

Hello,I bought C-160 a week ago.  It's great but I hear rattling noise continuously (not so loud, this may be normal) so I want to check the inside but the lid is too tight to lift.  The O-ring works perfectly but is there any tip to open the lid easily?

Good morning,Thank you for your inquiry. Typically during the first week of operation you can hear a little bit of a rattling noise where the media still has air trapped into it and is being released. However, to make sure that there is nothing inside of the impeller housing that may be causing the noise, we would recommend that you remove the impeller cover (twist counterclockwise) and then pull the impeller out of the housing and clean all parts necessary.MINI

I set up my c250 for a saltwater tank. I only have two cabinets inside the canister and not 4. Do I need all the cabinets in the canister so the water flows from the bottom to the top?

Assuming you mean trays. Yes, to have proper filtration you would need all four of them with media.BREX

Is the c160 too powerful for a 15 gallon tank?

It would depend on the types of fish you own. 160 gallon per hour is a little bit more than normal for that size tank, but you can adjust the direction of the flow, and to some degree, the force of it, with the diffuser on the outlet.BREX
