Emperor 400

I can't seem to find a foam pad media to fit this filter system. Suggestions?
Asked by: callitaday1
This takes the Rite Size E cartridge, not a foam pad. It also comes with a media container. You can insert carbon, ammo chips, bio beads, or filter floss inside the container for additional filtration.BREX

Is the micron cartridge shrinking over time?

The micron cartridge seems to be shrinking over time, as I am now having a hard time fitting the core inside it. I've had it for about a year. What's going on?
Asked by: fakiho
I have never known them to shrink, but I guess that would be possible, depending on how they are stored and maintained. We have not received this question in the 30+ years the filter system has been on the market, so I am unaware of any actual possible cause.BREX

what size filter sleeve will match 10" high and layed flat is 5" inside diameter

I have a commercial minnow tank and they use these type of prefilter for first filter of 4 filter system. They fit over a hub call it and it looks like one of those whole house water filter units from outside with a blue outer shell. It looks like the rite bonded filter and all I have is the size of a used one that is about 10" high and layed pressed flat is about 5" inside
Asked by: wardsstore
Rite Size V is 7.5" long/tall and 5.3/4" wide.BREX

How long do I leave my micron cartridge in after I clean my gravel and do a water change before switching back to the carbon filter?

Also I'm looking for another U foam sleeve for my carbon media container but when I try to search for it in the parts section it looks like I can only purchase another micron cartridge.. Do I have to purchase a whole new carbon media container with the sleeve?
Asked by: Horsechic198
In answer to your first question, long enough to clear the remaining debris, etc, from the water. As for the second question, here is a link to the page where you can order the foam sleeve: http://www.marineland.com/Products/aquarium-filtration-filter-media/Filter-Media/hot-magnum-canister-filter-replacement-filter-media-aquarium-foam.aspx.Just click on the Select One box, and select either a one pack or 3 pack. Or you can order just the sleeve through various other websites. It is also sold by itself through local fish stores.BREX
