Black Diamond® Premium Activated Carbon eliminates discoloration, odors, and impurities...and keeps on doing it long after other carbons quit.

Heat-activated bituminous coal-based Black Diamond granules are specially sized and far more efficient than inferior coconut, wood or peat-based carbons. Premium Black Diamond works as much as twice as fast as the competition.

Black Diamond Aquarium Carbon is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.

I have a new 75 gallon tank should I use the black diamond carbon or the diamond blend

Asked by: mongo
To help with ammonia during the cycling you might try the Diamond Blend to start off with and switch to Black Diamond, once it is cycled. However, if you intend to keep goldfish or other large fish, we would recommend the Diamond Blend, period. BREX

I just got a 360  filler. Can I put carbon onto the tray or does it need to be bag

Asked by: Mongo
Hi Mongo, It would need to be in a mesh bag of some sort. You cannot set it loosely into the tray or it will get pulled out. BREX

I read a study that showed that carbon "activated" (baked) at different temperatures had different adsorption profiles for different chemicals. Wondering at what temperature this carbon is baked.

Asked by: landshark
It does indeed. 3000 degrees is what we bake ours at which makes it extremely porous and effective. BREX

I have aquaclear 50 power filter. How much Black Diamond Aquarium Carbon do I use?

Asked by: Angelfish27
As that is not our filter, and we are unaware of the cartridge size, we'd have to guess, and recommend around half an ounce. BREX
