Rated 2 out of 5 by from NOT IDEAL The product works it just isn't as good as expected. The LEDs are like little spotlights, i can literly see the beams of light shining through the water. There aren't enough LEDs and it doesn't spread the light out evenly through the tank. Just a poor design I guess.

I recommend this program to know one. I wasted my Time on this when I could have purchased the light bar. Online reviews where defffinatley wrong. I want my money back so I can buy the 30 inch light bar. I spent so much on my marineland aqurium and all your chemicals. Now I'm out 650 dollars. So thanks alot. Please reply to this message.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these lights I have (6) of the Advanced LED units for various tanks (24" / 36" / 48" models for 10g / 20g / 40g tanks). All are planted tanks and most plants seem to do fairly well under these lights.I particularly like the built-in timer and the white-light / blue-light / OFF controls.I've only had one issue (failed timer in a 36" unit) and Marineland was super-helpful in troubleshooting it and then very prompt in sending a replacement.They're a little pricey but well worth it. Highly recommend. I do suggest following the manufacturers recommendation to always use with a hood to protect the LED lights.

I couldn’t be more happy with the execution of my issue by Marineland Customer Service! Rated 1 out of 5 by from Works great for about a month Bought this expensive light after a lot of consideration. Looks AWESOME....until it stops working. Can’t program it like I used to. Just blinks 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12. Tried resetting it didn’t work. Unplugged it for a while. Still didn’t work. Was thinking of buying a marineland tank but not now. There is no reason the light shouldn’t be working. It sits on top of a glass canopy and is well protected. Lesson learned and of course I don’t remember where I bought it from or the receipt.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Auto On/Off Has Gone Wacko!! Nice looking light.. Worked fine for a while then the auto timer went out of wack.The light will sometimes cycle on and off. Not like a strobe that some have wrote here.. but on for a while, then off for a while. The time also seems to set itself to 3:00 when this happens. We will go to bed at night with the light off and are awakened by the light cycling on and off.. I've had to resort to just unplugging it at night to assure it doesn't go into this mode. Very disappointed in these lights for the cost.. (they are not cheap!!)This is my second one with similar issues.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great for a a period of time I have owned three 18" Reef Ready lights. I purchased two and owned for about a year. I loved the look on the tank, the light output was great and it seemed very well made. Then I purchased the version with the timer and that was an outstanding addition to the design. However, all three between 2 and 3 years failed. One started strobing as described by other reviewers. One quit entirely and one would only light the blue ones. I junked them all. It was a shame since they are not cheap and I was a big fan of them. But I can't justify the cost per the life span. My local fish store owner actually admitted he had heard that feedback from other customers.

The one issue is the transformer box which has been sub-par, but the kind folks at Marineland, even though it was outside the warranty period, sent me a new one without charge and it's now back running as it should. Thanks! :)

I called and spoke with Steve, he quickly ascertained that the problem was most likely a power supply. One is on it way to me at next charge! Service was excellent, thanks again Steve.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from like the feature of the timer I bought the Advanced LED Strip light back in june 2016 for my birthday, however it is now Turing off on its on if you slightly bump it for example when you lift the lid to feed the fish. Then, when my wife sets the timer it turns off recycles then turns back on I tried a different power cord from that the pet tore owner gave me. I know it is not my outlets. This product was expensive I hope to hear from Marine land soon.

This one just quit working today and was working yesterday. Nothing was done around the tank to have any effect on it, it just quit working. The other now flashes like a strobe light. Not impressed with the quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Used for my softies in my reef setup his light did great and was exactly what my softies needed for lighting. no need to buy the reef capable one. this ligh put out enough light to keep my mushrooms and zoos alive and thriving. polyp extension was amazing. i was very surprised for the light output for the price i paid. no good enough for sps/lps. bu well enough light for softies!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The product is not made for aquariums This is the second time in as many months that some water, not a lot, dripped from my hand and onto the light. The result was immediate. The lights went off and within minutes I could not move the on/off switch. Certainly I didn't mean to drip water onto the light but this is an aquarium. I was adding a rock and when my hand came out it was wet. I put my hand on a towel right away but not before a few drops fell on the light fixture. This is the second LED light bar I have lost in the past two months due to water drops. This product is not made for aquariums, not aquariums with water in them anyway. If I dropped it into the aquarium that would be one thing, but a few drops? And twice this has happened? LEDs last a long time, but not if they get wet apparently.

Marineland has done well with this LED lighting solution!I love the way that they timer is built in. I have the blue running only at night and the fish look so peaceful underneath the blue light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LED Strip creates beautiful light effects I bought the Advance LED strip light to replace my outdated fluorescent fixture and wow what a difference. My fish colors are vibrant while the LED light reflection create a soothing shimmering effect throughout my 45 gallon aquarium. It literally has transformed the atmosphere of the tank. I have always used Marine land products from filters to heaters and now LED lighting. The cost for the unit was very reasonable. The programmable lighting gives me control of how long both the daytime and nighttime lights will be on each day. I truly love this light strip and encourage other aquarists to switch from traditional light fixtures to LED technology.

They stand behind their products like no other company, and they have amazing, high quality aquarium products that are unmatched in the industry. I'm a huge fan of this light, especially for a planted tank. The integrated timer makes it a super convenient option, and it's really easy to program. I highly recommend this light, and Marineland aquarium products in general.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Although I do recommend Although I do recommend this product and do like it you have to be careful not to spill anything on it (liquid wise) or else its gone and it is bright. I have a 37 gallong (30 inchec long) and it brightens up the whole aquarium to the point that I was getting algae (the hard type that you have to use a razor and a bronish hard algae on my heater and pumps) I finally turned everything off for a three days and then turned just the blue on and that made that algae go away., I do have a very heavy planted tank. ALthough everything is not higher then 8 inches it is so bright so be careful. I now have a Neptune Apex systems and I cant use it to control it because of the built in clock and timer. But other than the above it's a fantastic light and I would give it 6 stars

I have had 2 on an open top 20G tank and they have been working flawlessly for over 3 years. Not one single issue. I have the older version without the built in timer so I have them on a regular small appliance timer. They run for about 7.5 hours a day. Getting ready to buy two more 36 inch lights for my 40 Breeder

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Programmable LED lighting feature We have a Marineland 60 gal tank/furniture stand. I hated the flourescent lighting. There was a sale on lighting back in Aug 2014. I purchased the Marineland LED double bright lighting system 36"-48", however, the place of purchase shipped me the MarineLand Advanced LED Strip Light instead. Talk about a deal! The biggest difference besides price is the fact that this one is programmable and has 1750 lumens and the Double Bright system isn't programmable/digital and only has 1200 lumens. It lights up the tank with a little bit of one side being a little shadowed which is fine with our fish. For a 48" length tank, if you want it gleeming from side to side, then I would go with the 48"-60".

I have a 20 inch double fluorescent bulb Eclipse that I'd love to retrofit with LED lights. Will this light fit within 20 inch Eclipse hood if the fluorescent fixture is removed? Are there any Marineland LED lights that will fit within an Eclipse hood?

Hi, I have a 240 Gallon (96” Length x 18” Wide x 30” high) Freshwater planted tank. Can you give me a recommendation as to what type, size and how many lights will work. The Depth is 30” so I want to make sure that the light spectrum makes it down.

This light is not actually a plant light. It has a spectrum of 6000K, not 6500K. You would need at least 4 of the 48" size for low light plants. Or 6-8 of the 36" size. BREX

With that lot code the lights are now 8 years old. If they still seem bright, and are working, there's no reason to switch it out. If you aren't sure about the brightness, one way to gauge if they are working well is by how much algae you are getting. Does it grow back rapidly after a water change for example? If not, then the light is fine. If it does, then you may want a newer one. We don't make any of the models from back then, they have all been updated, and we have totally new ones coming out soon. We do not recommend placing them over an open top, no, because splashing will cause water to damage the light. If you can hang the light so it is at least 6 inches above the tank, it may be okay. We would recommend contacting a local glass company to make a canopy for you. BREX

The integrated hood (16x20") on my tank only has a 3" glass strip down the middle.  Your LED strip lights are about 5" wide so much of the light would be lost. My primary interest is in lush plant growth. Do you have a solution?

The part holding the hidden led strip lights has clip on one side, but it is so tight that could not be opened wide enough to attach to the frame of Marineland 60-gallon aquarium. I am afraid it would be broken if forced to press onto the frame.

What is your kalvin rating for your white and blue light in the 48-60 light . And if its no measured in Kalvin thaen how is it measured . I would like to apply this light directly to my salt water tank but am unsure it could sustain my corals ?? Ideas

Depending on which size you own, you will have 9 - 33 watts total for the light. The watts only give you the amount of energy the light uses, they do not provide any information on the amount of light the unit is providing. BREX

My 39 gal.led light died . It's always moist in place , I'm sure that's why it died . Your lights now have end covers with some kind of extentionstuff. My lid fit in a recessed area resting on a clear plastic lens , so will these new one work on mine?
