Hidden LED Lighting System is rated 3.75 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lighting option This light came with my 27 gallon cube tank. It was easy to clip on and everything on it hides well. I adjusted the angle and it makes the colors on the fish really stand out. The night lighting on it makes the brighter colored fish stand out. I have recommended this lighting system to family and friends for their tanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the fact that this has a day and night light. I was very pleased to see how easy this was to adapt to our existing unit and how quickly it was to install

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Much better than the LED hoods These light bars nicely light up the aquarium and don't (yet) seem to have the problems encountered with the LED hoods. Used with a glass canopy, they lend a very nice look to the aquarium.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very unique product I bought this light because of the low profile, natural lighting effects, ease of use, and my positive experiences with other Marineland products (filters, tanks, underwater lighting & bubble wands, heaters, etc.) I have bought good products from a few other companies, but I tend to gravitate toward Marineland products, as I know, from past experience, that I am getting top of the line products that last, perform well, have great features, and look great. I know that once I bring home a Marineland product, I'm not going to be disappointed. I know that the product is going to enhance the tank without taking the focus off the fish, not to mention ease of use. It's not bulky or heavy, and allows unobstructed view from the top of the tank for those who have glass tops. Plus, it makes it a lot easier to perform water changes and other maintenance to the tank, because you don't have to move a bulky light hood every time you need to gain access. I like that there are different options for mounting it- a deep groove to slide the inside lip (of the upper black tank rim) into and suction cups that allow it to be mounted to the tank glass. The light angle can be changed by turning the built-in knob at one end of the bar. The only thing that I would like to see in the future is an option to replace the light tube part. Other than that, this light is THE answer to eliminating extra bulk and creating a streamlined, elegant aquarium

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Had problems; Marineland replaced the unit immediately. I wrote a review which wasn't flattering and was contacted by Marineland to review the problems I experienced. Because the original unit wouldn't adjust the lighting down I was sent a replacement. The new unit adjusted as desired and is now a supplement to the main lighting, which is the 48-60 Reef Capable with timer. The extra lighting is a real plus in my 75 gallon reef system although it is designed for smaller aquariums. The concern shown by Marineland for satisfying their customers was in my opinion, superb.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Trouble with instructions. I bought this product to supplement the lighting in my reef system. The clips didn't fit so suction cups were used and I have to 'refit' regularly when the lights detach and float away. Neither could I redirect the lights downward so they light forward causing rapid algae growth on the front viewing of the aquarium. If I cannot correct these issues I will remove the system from my tank.

I have a aquarium in a yacht the depth of the tank is 12" the reason I like think this light would be good is because the top of the tank is a non transparent water tight door .is this light capable of growing coral . Is it enough of the right light .

Asked by: Capt kev
The Hidden Accent LED Strip Light with all blue lights is rated for corals. It is 460 nm and 17" long. However, you would still need a 10,000 - 14,000 Kelvin white light as well. I would recommend the Reef LED Strip Light for this purpose. It also has blue light, but it combines both types of lights. It is low profile, and comes in lengths from 18" to 48".BREX

I have a 55 gal. tank that I bought as a kit that came with 2 of your lights in 2 hoods can I add these in addition and will it support plant life? Submersible?

Asked by: Patrick5826
Yes, you can definitely add these to supplement the original lighting. They do support low to moderate light plant life. Yes, they are fully submersible. They are intended to be mounted in the frame, and rotate to allow directional adjustment.BREX

I just bought the Marineland 60 gallon ensemble and have replaced the t8 bulbs with floramax bulbs and know I need more lighting for my large plant collection. Is this fixture good for plants or some other hidden led system good for plants?

Asked by: Jofish
The blue and white Hidden LED light would be suitable for live plants, yes. For this size tank, we recommend at least two of them, depending on the types of plants you plan to keep.BREX

Attaching to a 23g bowfront

I have a 23 gallon bowfront tank, 30" W x 12" D (at the middle' 10" at either end) x 18" HCan I either1) attach the light to the front with the suction cups (presumably it can't clip on due to the curve), or2) attach it to the straight back. The issue at the back is that it has an attached lid, with the hinges on the back frame. I presume that it being waterproof would mean I can have it under the HOB filter.
Asked by: ScottAR
It would not fit on the front at all, no. You would have to make room for it on the back. It comes in a 17" and a 21".BREX

Grow plants in a 10 gallon?

I bought the 17" hidden light, will this grow plants in my 10 gallon tank? Would it be considered, low, medium or high light output? This will help me with my plant selection, thank you.

are these lights dimmable

would like to be able to dim the lights. this would allow me to use a controller to turn them on/off gradually to desired level to simulate typical daytime light and make the fish more comfortable about lights (no turning off and on when the kids want to see them, etc.)
Asked by: jdf25
No, they are not.BREX
