Rated 5 out of 5 by from YAH, no more hanging lamps over the tank! I have a planted tank with small fish. The plants need light, the fish need hidey spots as well. I don't use a lid because the filter doesn't fit. The answer is the "clip lights" that I bought. These hide around the rim and because they're in various sizes, I can control what areas I light up or darken down. My tank actually looks natural and the fish suit themselves to find daylight or shaded areas.. I NEED MORE!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke in a week This came with my 60gal marineland tank with stand and lid. Is supposed to be white or blue, but the blue setting flickered even when we first purchased it and now does not function at all.Confused on how to get a replacement or if I want one.I did enjoy the mounting concept, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Using outside for pond waterfall I have been using outside for my pond waterfall for over five years straight. The switch stopped working for blue light only. However, The blue lights work with the white ones. This is because I never weather protected the switch.I cant believe it lasted that long. Also, before I used this in my pond, I used it in my reef tank

Rated 4 out of 5 by from LED Light Stick for Planted Aquarium? I recently purchased a 60 gallon marineland tank kit with stand and led light sticks from petsmart. The tank looks amazing and I recently added some plants. There is very little info on whether the light stick option is a sufficient PAR/LUX rating for planted aquariums. I can't find anything anywhere. The two sticks are about 12" long and are hidden on the frame of the tank. I'd like to have a lush aquascape but dont know if these sticks are good enough.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice Design but I have had this LED Hidden Light for about a year. The design is great because you can hide the light, I use the light for additional lighting in my 55 gallon tank for the plants. Since I purchased the light, the cord that plugs into the switch box is either bad or the switch box receptacle is bad. I have to play with it to get the light to turn on and then set the switch box a certain way for the light to stay on. At $40 each I cannot recommend, thought it would be good quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good customer service, nice low profile light I purchased one of these LED strips that stopped working after a few months. Customer service was excellent; over email they agreed to ship me a new light at no charge. They only asked for a lot number on the unit and where to send the replacement. The replacement has been working great for over a year now and gives a nice low profile on the tank. Bright enough for the anubias in my 20 long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Far, So Great!! Ok ..finally went ahead and purchased the 21" Hidden Led - was concerned on how to mount on my Eclipse 3 Hood - was actually pretty simple. Removed the entire light fixture, leaving just the hood, attached the Hidden Led to the back rim and ran the wire through the cutouts in the back ....attach the suction cup-switch to the side and voila! LED is brighter than the fluorescent ..and the "shimmer"action gives the tank a realistic feel. The blue 'nighttime' setting is a lil dark for my taste but can live with it. All and all, pretty happy with the purchase! Will keep ya posted ..but good job so far Marineland!

What is the wattage equivalent on the 21 inch hidden LED strip light? Will these lights provide enough lighting for an anemone in a 35 gallon FOWLR tank?

Asked by: Dan40
Wattage simply gives you the amount of energy the light uses. Anemones are more concerned with Kelvin, PAR and Lux. No, this light is not suitable for an anemone. It is 460 nm and 6500 Kelvin so it is a good supplemental light for a marine tank with corals or anemones or a good light for a FOWLR tank, but should not be the only light source for your anemone. How is the tank look like

Asked by: Saidi
That depends on the size of the tank, how many lights you add, and whether you set the lights to be blue only or blue and white, but the latter is very bright. The blue tends to make the tank look like it is being lit by moonlight. BREX

Can these be connected to each other?

Asked by: Steviewonder
No, actually, they cannot. You can certainly place them up against each other, side by side, but they do not connect. BREX

I need to purchase an aquarium hood with l e d’s for a Five gallon fish tank. Please assist me.

Asked by: Darby
Hi Darby! The Marineland brand doesn't make anything like this, but our Tetra/GloFish brand does. http://www.tetra-fish.com/products/lighting-decor-and-accessories/led-aquarium-hood.aspx. You need the 16 x 8 inch size. It only comes with white lights though, so if you want blue as well, http://www.tetra-fish.com/products/glofish/blue-led-light.aspx. You could do a glass canopy instead of a hood, along with the GloFish blue light. BREX

I have had the hidden strips lights for also two years and they worked fine blue for evening white for daytime. Last night when I turned off the lights some of the white lights remained on. had to unplugged the set Why is happening?

Asked by: Marcia H
There are a number of possible causes such as wiring issues, water inside the unit, etc. If it continues, there really isn't a fix other than to replace it. BREX

Hi, I have a Marineland 20g LED kits and the 21'' hidden LED light together. Will these create too much light for low-light plants, such as anubias nana?

Asked by: yhpapa
Congratulations! No, they will not create too much light. Low light plants will simply grow in low light. However, in bright light they THRIVE. You may even see them bloom. I've had one in various tanks since 1999. From 10 to 38 gallons, with different light spectrums. The brighter the light the more it blooms and puts out new plants. I have to separate them and prune often in bright light. Good luck and enjoy! BREX

Will this light work for live plants

Asked by: MosesPharoh01
It will help sustain low light plants, but is not recommended for high light plants or heavily planted tanks. If you had more than one fixture, it would definitely work on heavily planted tanks with low to moderate light need plants. BREX
