Pump/Filtration Assembly for Eclipse® System 3, Hex 5, and Corner 5.

Hi, I have an older Eclipse® System 6 and need to replace the filtration unit which barely pumps any water. Do you have a unit to replace it?

Asked by: irvingS
We still have impellers, but if you need the actual pump/filtration system, we do not have that part. It sounds like you need the impeller. Have you removed it, and soaked it in vinegar? We recommend soaking it for about 20 minutes or so. Also, take a q tip with vinegar and clean out the little area in the pump that it sits in. B-Rex

pump stopped

Have an Eclipse Hex 7 and the pump stopped, does not make any noise either. Took apart, cleaned impeller and shaft slots. It's worked for about six years and would like to get it going again. Is PR3340 the correct part for the 7 hex and PR3342 the impeller Assembly?
Asked by: Grua
Yes, those would be the correct items. B-Rex

Hex 5 replacement parts

Hi, we have a hex 5 that has got to be almost 10 years old. We had an electrical issue and blew out the light as well as the filter components- i just through the whole top parts away - except the frame ( it was all old and gross) thinking i could easily just go get a replacement. Ha- not so easy. Could you tell me what parts i need - and how to get them??
Asked by: Zapped
You would need the impeller, impeller housing, biowheel, biowheel bearings intake tube, strainer, pump/filtration assembly, and the hood with lamp base assembly. By the time you buy all of the parts you need, you would be able to buy one of the newer, sleeker set ups we have on the market. All of the parts are available on our website, however, and through www.aquariumguys.com or www.petsolutions.com. In the future., try cleaning parts with distilled white vinegar and hot water. This method can make aquariums, filters, etc, look almost new. B-Rex

Would this work on a HEX 7?

I need a new pump/filtration system for a HEX 7 asap but it doesnt look like they are sold anymore. Can I use a HEX 5 assembly?
Asked by: fishknapp
Hello, Neither the Hex 5 nor the Hex 7 kits are manufactured any longer but the good news is that we do still manufacture the Pump Filtration Assembly for the hex kits (which take the same pump filtration parts.) The pump motor is item # PR3340 but please note that this is a separate component and does not include the intake tube, impeller, strainer or impeller housing parts. ML2

Eclipse Hex 5 filter motor assembly stopped working after only 10 hours of use.

Upon assembly, the pump and filter worked fantastic! I was excited to let it run for a day or 2 before I added some fish. Eclipse Hex 5 filter motor assembly stopped working properly after only 10 hours of use. I disassembled it, checked that the parts were put together correctly and moved as they were supposed to. Next I unplugged it for about 12 hours, replugged it again but it still doesn't work properly. The motor makes a very low sound and does not move any water. UGH! Is there anything else I can do before trying to get a replacement part? This is very frustrating!

As we cannot ask questions in this forum, here are some things that can cause this issue to occur: - in new aquaria, grit from the new gravel or sand can get hung in the impeller assembly. Be sure to remove it and check it carefully; it should be able to spin freely - low water level, water must be to the top frame of the tank - impeller installed into the pump, then the cover put on, instead of impeller being installed into the cover first, then pushed into the pump BREX

my impeller is stuck

hi, upon cleaning my hex 5 I noticed that my impeller was stuck. I tried wiggling it, soaking it and wiggling it, then tried grabbing it with pliers and wiggling it. At this time it seems I've broken it. Am I able to remove it somehow and replace it or do I need another housing unit and impeller? Please let me know. Thanks for your help
Asked by: Darla
Stick a fork in it, it's done! Afraid there will be no way of fixing this particular pump and impeller; you will need to buy a new one of each. BREX

Where is the thin tube that fits underneath the PR3340? Do you have to buy that separately if you bought the 3340?

Asked by: NanNan
If you are referring to the impeller housing/cover or the intake tube, yes, both parts are sold separately. The only thing that comes with the pump...is the pump. BREX

Is there a source for a system 6 filter pump?

My system 6 (PFEC06) filter pump died a couple of days ago, I have been trying to find a replacement pump without luck even on ebay. Wondering if the pumps design for systems 3 or system 12 could be used within the system 6?
Asked by: Lmcollins
No, that pump is discontinued, and the pumps for the others will not fit the frame. BREX

Pump filtration system

I bought the 5 gallon Hex 5 from PetsMart in April. The pump motor has stopped working. I was told I had to contact your site to get a replacement. Is this the size I need? The light part is fine, I only need to replace the motor. Also, should this part only last for a few months? How quickly can I get a replacement? I'm concerned about my fish!
Asked by: Bftnorris
Hello, Please be sure that you have taken the black box apart and thoroughly cleaned the impeller assembly before assuming the motor itself is defective. The way to do this is to remove the box from the tank. Remove the intake tube and strainer. Then get a grip on the opening where the tube was attached. Rock the bottom piece back and forth while pulling and you will be able to remove the bottom impeller housing and the impeller. Wipe the impeller and remove any stringy material. Wipe well, clean up in the black box with a q-tip. Rinse that well with hot water. Place the impeller back into the bottom plate and then put the bottom plate onto the black box. Be sure your tank is filled all the way to the top and it should start again. If this does not work please let us know by calling and speaking to a representative in our consumer relations department at 1-800-322-1266. Marineland2

Pump motor broke

I've had the Hex 5 for around 3 years and then the motor quit working on it. I couldn't find a Marineland site, so I ordered one from Pet Mountain, but it didn't include all the pieces and said I'd have to keep my original impeller, impeller mount, inlet tubing, and strainer. And then it quit a couple months later. If I order one here, does it include everything I need?
Asked by: itsjustme
No, all of those pieces are sold individually. It shouldn't stop that soon. Have you tried just cleaning your impeller? You should also take a q tip and some vinegar and clean up inside the motor where the impeller sits, after pulling it out. BREX

can I just buy the plastic cover for the filter on my hex five? This is the stationary cover at the top back of the unit,.

Asked by: LBWJr
If you are referring to the piece that goes on the top of it, where the cord comes out, no, that is not available separately. You would need to buy the whole pump. BREX

Need pump assembly

Bought an Eclipse 3 tank but it did not have the pump/intake/bio filter assembly in it. Can you provide part numbers to purchase them separately?
Asked by: JaeT
There are several parts you will need. They are all here: http://www.marineland.com/Products/fish-tank-aquarium-starter-kits/Eclipse-Seamless-Aquarium-Kits.aspx#parts Also, the quick set up guide will show you the parts. If you do not have that, it is here: http://qa.marineland.com/sitecore/shell/Controls/Rich%20Text%20Editor/~/media/AE5545A399A64353A50A449F28696865.ashx BREX

The pump stopped working. What is the part number for this pump so I can purchase a new pump.
Asked by: AlexR
If you truly do need the pump, and do not just need to open it, pull out the impeller, and clean both parts, it is the item number that was attached to your question: PR3340. BREX

We have an Eclipse Hex 5 and need to replace the pump

We have an Eclipse Hex 5 where the pump has overheated. The impeller no longer fits into the pump housing, and so we'd like to order a new pump. There isn't a picture on this for me to verify this is the part we want. The part holds the filter biowheel, the filter bag, is about 2" wide by 6" long and has the pump at one end with the intake tube coming off of the bottom. If this is the pump part, does it come with an impeller or is that a separate part?
Asked by: Nurgle
Nurgle, Thank you for your patience as we re-launched our website not too long ago and are still adding photos of all of our parts. The pump filtration assembly is the part you are describing. That part number for our Eclipse Hex 5 is PR3340. The impeller assembly is a separate part and that item numer is PR3342. Marineland2
