Is there a black light version of this bulb?

I want to put some glow fish in this tank for my daughter. Is there a blacklight version of this bulb available? Or something that would be compatable with this system?
Asked by: Ardarel
Depends on which version of this kit you happen to own. If you have the incandescent version, you can use a small light bulb up to 15 watts, and a black one would be fine. If you have the power compact version, a black light up to 10 watt would be fine. Check out the bulbs at your local hardware/DIY store. BREX

Do you have an LED replacement light for the Eclipse System 5 Hex aquarium?

Asked by: shaggy8703
At this time we do not offer an LED light nor an LED style retro-fitted light source. We have lots of customers who love this kit though, so perhaps we will introduce something in the future that will be equipped with LED lighting. Marineland2

The replacement lamp for hex 5 is a flour scent. what is the wattage? Now I have 10wt incandescent and am having major problem with algae growth. no

No heater, not in sun, lights on only 5hours a day.

There are two versions of the Hex 5. One is a 15 watt incandescent, the other is a 10 watt fluorescent. Algae is caused by excess nutrients, not light. Certainly an excessive amount of light can make matters worse. It sounds like you need to vacuum your gravel and do a partial water change more often. We recommend a minimum of once a week with a tank this small. Algae may also grow more readily in low light conditions so be sure to replace the bulb at least once every 9-12 months. BREX
