Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great to have spare parts I marked it Average because I have no problem with this kit however you need to keep in mind this package does NOT include all the spare O-rings. I noticed at least 2 O-rings in my c-220 that this package didn't include. It's great that Marinelad supplies these spares however, I wish they include all the O-rings so you can replace all of them at one shoot yearly etc.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Slowed it down, but still leaking I bought a new o-ring set for my canister filter after it only being taken apart 3 times, because of a leak where the top of the canister is suppose to seat, it slowed the flow of water but woke up to a flooded fish cabinet, so while this replacement part does help it didn't totally fix it, guess it's time for silicone !

where does the gasket go

Which gasket are you referring to - this filter has several. BREX

I bought a C 160 and only came with the motor head gasket. I'm finding now the needs 2 small gasket and 4 more gaskets. I think that's why is not cleaning at a 100%. How you guys can help me.

Asked by: jmorales
The two small o rings are already installed on the underside of the valve block. Two spares are included with the filter, in a clear baggie inside the white parts box. The four gaskets are tray gaskets. They can be found on the top of each tray in the filter, except for the very top tray. That one does not have a gasket, since there is an o ring on the tube extending down from the motorhead. If you find these are missing, simply call us at 1-800-322-1266 or email you receipt and information to us at BREX

Just bought a c220 for my tank and it started leaking from the valve block and just trickles down from the seal this is brand new not even a day old. What would be the recommended approach for this problem?

Asked by: Garyb223
As we have not manufactured the C Series in over a year, yours may have been sitting for a bit, and the o rings may have dry rotted somewhat. Try using silicone lubricant to see if you get a better seal. If not, you may need new o rings. If that is the case, just give us a call at 1-800-322-1266. BREX

I just purchased a new marineland magnaflow canister 220. Where do these 2 O- rings go??

Asked by: Dleal
If you are referring to the two small ones, about the size of a dime in diameter, they are spare o rings that go on the underside of the valve block, once those wear out. BREX

where are the two small o-rings supposed to be placed in C-220

where are the two small o-rings supposed to be placed in C-220
Asked by: Beefriend
The ones that come in the little clear bag are spare ones for the valve block. They would go on the nozzles on the underside of it in approximately one year. BREX

C-360 Gasket Positions

The rubber collar gaskets that seal the different baskets of the filter assembly do not seem to fit properly. Can you post a link with an exploded diagram showing the orientation of EACH of the collar gaskets, particularly the top one. In the position they appear to be located, they bind on the top grate cover plate, and seem to be critical to prevent discharge water to not "leak" into the intermediate baskets. The video is not sufficient to resolve these important assembly details. Such pointers on interlocking could be good to add to content to the overly simplistic video.

The top tray does not have a gasket. There is a gasket on each of the lower trays only. The o ring on the port that extends down from the motorhead is what connects with the top tray to prevent bypass. We do not have a photo of what you seek; just the quick set up guide, which you already have in your possession. The gaskets simply push onto the lower trays, and the trays "snap" together well, if you slide them back and forth a little bit. Be sure to get the trays lined up straight, and make sure the media is level in the trays. B-Rex

Pair of small round rings

I understand that the pair of small round rings that came with my C220 are replacements, but where do they go and what purpose do they serve? I am not able to find those small o shaped rings currently on the filter anywhere.
Asked by: mcompagno2
On the two nozzles that are on the underside of the valve block itself. These nozzles go down into the top of the motorhead as you push the valve block onto it and lock it down. BREX

media tray gaskets for C220

My C220 only came with 1 media tray gasket, the others were missing. Is this going to have an impact on the filter's performance?
Asked by: mcompagno1
There should be one on each tray, other than the top tray. The gaskets are to prevent bypass and keep the water moving through the filter media, but it will run just fine without them. If you wish to have a set sent to you, please call our support staff at 1-800-322-1266. BREX

Do you have instructions for installing this gasket kit for the C-220?

Asked by: starchy77
We only have the quick set up guide that is for the entire filter itself. No special instructions for the gasket kit as you basically pull off your old one and push on the new one. Instructions for the filter are directly on our site. BREX
