Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks! I bought the c-160 brand new. A few months later it started to leak so I sent it in and exchanged it. Few months later the new one started leaking. Same thing sent it back and even upgraded to the c-360. About 8 months after that it started leaking again. So I'm buying the replacement gaskets and if that doesn't work, I'm done! Too bad cause, when it works, it's a beast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product. I exchanged the old with the new and that was it. My 360 woke up one morning leaking all over my floor. After cleanup I called Marineland customer service. They were so helpful. Let me say their customer service deserves an award. They recommended I purchase this product so that I can replace the gaskets on my unit. I went on and ordered it on their site. It arrived in 4 days, so the shipping was lightning fast. I replaced all the gaskets and now my baby is humming like a champ. Could not be more happy. Hint, now this is important....Do not replace these gaskets without first lubricating them. I used a silicon grease which I bought at Ace Hardware. Make sure the grease has no petroleum. Otherwise it can harm the fish. It only set me back about 5 bucks which was great. The grease is branded as Ace silicon grease with no petroleum. Believe me save yourself a headache. Buy the grease...I hope this was helpfull. Thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fixes the C-Series ailments Solved the air sucking problem & annoying noise from the cycling. The kit contains a larger diameter lid o-ring that doesn't (as of yet) need silicone to seal properly. Takes more effort to snap lid on correctly, but definitely feels solid when you're done. I believe the gaskets for the tray tubes are the main reason for the air leaks & noise although. But once replaced, can't even hear the filter run.

I also treated the O-rings with Sil-Glyde (Napa Auto Parts). I could feel the difference while placing the head back onto the canister.

How do you get the primer button to work! I have gotten desperate and opened the lid to look at it and i cant seem to get it to operate! Please help! Been going through it with this filter! So dissatisfied!

Asked by: Step
It would help to have more details as to what you mean by getting the primer button to work. If it is stuck, and not moving downward, place the palm of one hand over top of it, then take the heel of the your other hand, and press into the back of the one covering the primer button. Push hard, with both hands to get the button to move downward. Please contact us directly for more assistance. It is easier to troubleshoot if we can speak to you. 1-800-322-1266. BREX

Large o ring on c360 leaks. Looks like iam not the only one with this problem. Replacing ever 3 to 6 mounts add up unless you do something with the gasket. You know this i have a lot of money in this pump already though i was buying the best HELP

Asked by: patches62
We are sorry to hear that your gasket is leaking. The C360 has been discontinued for a year and a half, however, the o ring was upgraded around the same time, and the gasket kit has the improved o ring in it. Customers have reported that they had better success with their o rings when they used silicone lubricant after every filter cleaning. If your unit is within the 3 year warranty period of time, please call or email us directly. 1-800-322-1266 or techsupport.marineland@spectrumbrands.com. We would be happy to assist you! BREX

attaching the hose to the out and in on the canister. the hose is to big to get the locking nuts to fit.,why? and what are the supplied orings(2) for.

Asked by: budocop
Make sure you have pushed the tubing down over the barbed end, and then over the threads and under the hose nut before tightening up the hose nut. It is a very tight fit, and it is best to sort of twist and wiggle the tubing to get it under them. The o rings go on the underside of the valve block. There are two nozzles/ports on the underside. These o rings will replace the two closest to the end of the nozzle when they wear out. BREX

How do I stop the rush of constant micro air bubbles ?

I have a c360 for about 1.5 yrs. after changing and cleaning filters and canister. I am getting a constant rush of Micro bubbles. I tried resetting all the trays and after restarting I still get the gushing of bubbles. Also when I push the key back to close the valve to stop the water flow I am getting a continual drip. Can this be fixed? Or will the unit which connects to the tubing have to be replaced?
Asked by: Stevosps
Sounds like some of your o rings need replacing. I would replace the whole valve block with a new one (they aren't very expensive) and would also replace the large motorhead o ring. BREX

Is there anything I can do to stop the air bubbles coming from my C-360 filter besides replacing the valve block that is hard to find in stock?

Let me start off by saying I love my Marineland filter and I have had my C-360 canister filter for a couple years now, and it seems that I constantly have issues with small air bubbles. After doing some reading from other customers with the same filter, I noticed I was not the only person with that problem. My first fix was just replacing the valve block and it worked great for probably a year and than it came right back. After more reading I learned I could put some form of grease / vasoline on the o rings to help make a better seal. That also work for a shorter amout of time, so to fix the problem I was just going to replace the valve block again, but it is never in stock. My question is when will they be back in stock, and is there anything I can do to stop the air bubbles till then. It is starting to get really bad which is causing to filter to be very loud and annoying. Thanks

C360 canister filter leaking from back side of canister near prime button & clamps.

I have had this filter for 2 years now and since day one i have had bubbles coming out of one hose and now i just noticed when the power goes off in my house circuit breaker going off or to be disconnected by cut off valve the canister will leak slightly. My last maintenance of the filter resulted in alot of water coming out as the canister is restarted ie priming unit and water coming out near the clamps to lock unit tight. I did apply lubricant to the product. Will the kit you sell stop the leakage in which has occurred i am nervous about using this again for i do not want 90+ gallons of water on my hard wood floor if i am not around to stop it.
Asked by: websterzx10r1
Yes, it will. It sounds like you are in need of the large o ring for the motorhead. So unless there is a crack somewhere in the motorhead that you are unaware of, the o ring would fix your issue. BREX

I need a gasket kit for a C-360 and cannot find one anywhere. All out of stock. I need to large O-ring and one of the rubber gaskets for the media trays. Do you have a list of sellers? I've tried PetSmart, Big Al's and all the private stores in Ottawa.

Just call or email us and we can send the large o ring to you. We are building some new kits that will contain only the large one. The tray gasket is not critical, the filter can be run without it and we do not have that one in stock since the main kit is out of stock. We do expect more in later this month. You may also tray www.thatpetplace.com, www.aquariumguys.com, and www.petsolutions.com. I'm not sure if they all ship to Canada or not, but worth a try. BREX

My c-160 filter is leaking and sucking air, and I bought a gasket kit, but can't find any instructions or diagrams online for where they go.
Asked by: karymaye
It may be best if you call in, but basically, the large one goes in the same spot as the large one that is already in place around the motorhead. The two small o rings go in the same spot as the small ones on the two nozzled that extend down under the valve block. The rest are tray gaskets. BREX

C-360

Unfortunately, I am having the same problem as many others, my pump sucking air and leaking. Apparently there is no solution from Marineland and I'm beginning to think they're just blowing air while not supporting their product or customers. I'm very unhappy that I ordered new O-rings now that I see it won't solve my problem. I am also very unhappy that I now have to research and purchase a new pump and filter....of course from a different manufacturer if I don't get a timely response. The system isn't even a year old.
Asked by: Dungeree
Your filter has a 3 year warranty. Replacement o rings typically resolve air and/or leaking issues, as long as the vinyl tubing has been installed correctly, and the valve block is not blocked. If they do not resolve the issue, you also have the recourse to ship your filter back in its entirety to our returns facilty and we will replace it for you. This format is not the most expedient format for assistance as we only answer questions posted this way, each morning, Monday through Friday. Calling our 1-800 number is best. Returns address: Attn.
