Hi, how do I remove the impeller from the c-360?

Asked by: Eamonn
Unplug the filter, lock the valve block so it will not leak by turning the levers so they are perpendicular, one at a time, then unlock all 4 latches. Remove the motorhead and carry it to where you intend to do maintenance. Flip it upside down. In the middle of the underside is a circular cover. It will have arrows pointing to open and to close. Twist towards open, remove the cover, then remove the impeller. BREX

marineland C-360 canister filter - air bubbles

I have a marineland C-360 canister filter that blows air bubbles and is very noisy. I already tried replacing all the gaskets. Is it possible that the impellor is not working correctly? When the impellor is removed, is the magnet supposed to turn a little before it engages the blades? Or should the magnet and the blades turn together at the same time without a delay? The impellor appears to function properly (the blades spin smoothly) when I run the pump in the dry.
Asked by: PeterC360canister
The magnet should turn a bit before engaging the blades. Air bubbles mean you are getting air in from somewhere. Did you replace the large o ring when you changed the gaskets? Or the little o rings on the valve block? I would recommend three things: 1. silicon lubricant on the large o ring or a new o ring 2. new valve block 3. make sure you cannot see the threads on the hose nozzles after the vinyl tubing is pushed down onto them. The tubing should go over the barbs, then slide on down over the threads, and up under the hose nut before you tighten the hose nut. BREX

c360 impellar shipping cost to Florida Zip 32907?

Asked by: fish321
No idea. You would need to enter the order for the shipping amount to come up. You can cancel the order if you do not wish to submit it. I suspect ground would be around $10. BREX

when do you expect to have PRIM360 impellers in stock?

I require the shaft for the PRIM360 impeller, and am willing to buy 3 shafts to have on hand as I have several C360 filter units running and like the ease of servicing them as required.

If so I'm upset because I've only had it a yr...

Remove the impeller. Check under the magnet and the blades for any sand. Soak it in distilled white vinegar for 15 minutes. Take a q tip and/or toothpick and clean out the little hole it sits in, up in the motorhead. Make sure there is no sand or debris/sludge all the way up to the top of this little hole. Remove the valve block, and with a q tip, clean out each of the four nozzles, then soak the valve block in a 50:50 distilled vinegar solution for about 15 minutes. Try the filter again. As long as you are getting a sound, vibration, etc, the motor itself is fine, you may just need a new impeller. Contact us. In regards to the primer button, put the motorhead onto the canister, push it down like you are going to connect the handles, pull up on the two lift handles, gently, but steadily until they are straight up and just past that point. You should hear a whoosh sound when pressure is released. You may need to do this 2-3 times before you get that sound. Again, be gentle, but steady. Don't jerk them up, and don't force them past where they can go. BREX

c 360 impeller

I just purchased a c 360 canister and everything was fine until about two weeks of use when the impeller started to make a noise. It sounds as if it is hitting the edges of the housing when rotating. Its not air in the filter, I'm familiar with that. What could it be? The filter is brand new, how could it need replacing already?
Asked by: gkc0803
It could be that the impeller has pulled something into the cavity. That is a very tight space. If you are using sand, for example, it is very easy to pull grains of sand in there and cause noise issues. Bits of carbon, hair, plant matter, hard water deposits, etc, can all cause the impeller to spin incorrectly. BREX

How do you know if you need to replace the impeller on a c360 filter? How do you do it?

Asked by: braunston
If the filter is running, but not priming, everything appears clean, otherwise, and you are sure all of the o rings are sealing properly, you try the impeller. You just twist the small cover in the middle of the motorhead, on the underside, and once that comes off, grab the propellor blades, and pull it out. B-Rex

Will the impeller for the c 360 work for my old marine 350 canister filter?

I need an impeller for my old Marineland Magnum 350 convertible canister filter. Do you still carry parts for them?
Asked by: Anonymous
Hi- The impeller for the C360 will not fit your Magnum 350. Both of these canister filters are current items. The Magnum 350 has a 2 part impeller. The corresponding part numbers for this impeller are PR1470 and PR1472. Marineland2
