Intake Tube, Strainer/Outlet Tube Elbow, and Diffuser for C-530.
Intake Tube Set for C-530 is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Inlet Tube Too Short The inlet tube is too short, if your tank is very large 200 gallons for example the inlet tube will not reach the bottom on the tank. Plastic feels very thin and was cautious when pushing vinyl tubing onto them. Also not enough length of tubing for large tanks. The diameter is odd 1-1/8"od a 3/4" id could not find it easily. Did find it at a medical/lab supply house, expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How i modified it for my turtle tank... I bought 2 of these and cut the out take side to add a PVC attachment to it so that the water goes below the water line. I also add a PVC attchment to the intake side to lengthen it down to the lower water level need for a turtle tank. Very easy and now i don't have water noise from the filter. very happy

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Weak plastic but does the job This tube set does the job. But I was surprised when I felt the plastic. I can't imagine how flimsy the imitations are. The thickness and strength ofvtge plastic needs to match the strength of the tubing. I almost snapped the plastic in half trying to slide the tubing.

Intake Tube is pulling air between the hose, is there a way to correct this? I'm not sure if I should be replacing either this kit or the hosing kit in order to prevent it from pulling air. I notice it's where the screwing/tightening part is ...

Asked by: Marc8484
If you are referring to the plastic intake tube and the C clamp, you just need to tighten the C clamp more. If you mean where it connects to the valve block, then the tubing needs to be pushed down further on the valve block, preferably covering all of the threads, and then the hose nut tightened. BREX

Do you have extension for the outtake?

Asked by: Amanda6711
No, we sure don't. If you are using this in something like a turtle tank, many folks remove the diffuser and use a piece of vinyl tubing and a hose clamp to extend it down. BREX

C-530 Plastic white locking pin for impeller housing cover

I asked a question before about the white locking pins. If you don't sell them separately then how do I obtain them. I really hope I don't have to buy a filter just to get this item.
Asked by: Jholland1980
Typically, this is absolutely not available. I have had maybe two requests for one in all the years this filter has been available, so it is not worth it to stock the part. However, I happened to have an old 530 nearby and pulled it out to send to you. Please email us directly your name, address, and phone number. Put FOR BREX in the subject line and I'll get the email and send it to you. BREX

C-530 canister impeller housing, axle, bearings, and locking pin.

I have this filter and need all parts stated do you sell these separately or as a package ? I especially need the housing lock pin. When I clean/replace the impeller there is a small white plastic pin that locks the impeller cover in place after I turn it in place. Can you help ?
Asked by: Jholland1980
The impeller assembly comes with all of the parts you mentioned other than the white locking pin. Unfortunately, that is not available separately. BREX

on the diffuser for the C-530 is there a louvered piece that is to be there or wide open?

The diffuser is open and I am afraid speedy little fish can go into it or snails. Is this end piece supposed to be wide open or look like the diagram that comes with it ...louvered, looks like you can position it? Thank you for your help. Mavis Bryan PS: I had to buy another one from a reputable seller on eBay, should I register another one? The first one was registered about 4-6 weeks ago.
Asked by: grammiescorner
It should come with a louvered piece in the middle, and not be wide open. Please call or email us directly to receive a replacement part. Yes, go ahead and register the second one. BREX

The intake tube doesn't reach as deep in my aquarium as I would like. Is three an extention available?

If there isn't an extension, what size tubing and adapters would I need to lengthen it?
Asked by: Larry82001
No, we sure don't, as it comes with a really long tube to begin with. The diameter of the tubing is 1". B-rex

Can any other hose fit this besides 7/8 ?

Asked by: fisherofmen
We only have the one size of intake tube for the C530. Any other hose would simply be too small to go over it, or so loose, you couldn't tighten it enough to prevent air from being sucked in. BREX
