Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked as expected I ordered this replacement part for my c-220. I'm happy it worked well and was easy to replace, price was okay, and delivered as expected, however I'm not happy I had to replace this part due to o-ring leak. This part wasn't broken or had any damage etc. Maybe I should have contacted the support, but I didn't think there is a life time warranty on this item. (In case someone would like to contact me on this, review; I'll try my best to describe. There are 2 small O-rings between the leaver and the in and out water. The leaver blocks the water so you can take this apart from the filter for cleaning etc. One of these started to leak on mine so I had to replace entire this piece. (I'm also unhappy with the o-ring spare parts because that o-ring package doesn't include these leaking O-rings).On a separate subject (as a mechanical engineer) I believe there is also some design issue on this part. The same leaver's bottom end actually touches the side wall in the inside when it's at certain angle, but I'm not sure actually this would evently cause the o-ring to get old sooner etc. Finally, I'm happy Marineland is a big company and supplies these spare parts on their web site, and as a Marineland fan, I wish this part didn't leak; however I still would suggest this pump and spare part to friends and family. Mine is pretty old but in good condition so I'll keep maintaining it and using it, but I'm hoping new versions of these tanks have a better design or better O-rings etc. (I'm not even mentioning the mess it caused on my hardwood floor.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Customer Service I have owned the C220 for a little over a year. It filters my tank wonderfully. Due to wear and tear, it began to have a small leak. However once I was in contact with Marineland everything worked out smoothly. Good products backed by good people.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Customer Service I recently ordered the wrong part for my filter. When I called, the service representative went way out of their way to help me get the order cancelled even thought it was already packed and on the shipping dock. I am very happy with both my filter and the customer service I have received.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Online order went as expected. The product arrived and is acceptable. The product price was reasonable. The shipping charge was more than the part and twice what it should have been. In addition, al lI needed was the nut, but I had to by the whole head piece.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would recommend the C-220 Canister However; the closure snap on valve block is flimsy

How do you install this valve block?

Asked by: Block
It should install with the levers facing upward towards the handle. Lift the top lever up, bring the bottom one up and twist it 180 degrees then push the valve block onto the filter. Now twist the lower lever back into the starting position, pushing it flat. Push the large lever down to cover it. BREX

Do you have the motor for this filter

Asked by: NAPPA
No, the motor is not available separately. You would need to replace the filter with the Magniflow version. BREX

I have the 220 series, a few months -- top will not seal back after one time cleaning how do I fix it.

I am not happy with this canister, it after a few months does not keep my tank very clear and now after cleaning the canister out, I can not get the top to seat back and it is now sucking air in and leaking--how do you fix this, have had many other canisters, always had a fish tank and never had this problem with any other canister, I don't think I will purchase any other Marineland canisters again.

Please either call or email in directly for assistance. Ideally, we need to be able to talk to you so we can ask questions to try to troubleshoot the issue. Tips: - always use silicon lubricant on the large o ring after each maintenance - check the valve block to make sure it is not blocked and causing water to go into the motorhead instead of the canister body. Also, that it is fully locking. BREX
