Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality product you can depend on. The original Eclipse System I bought for my existing aquarium has been working perfectly for 5 years +. The filter motor burned up when we had an electrical storm and power surge while we were away. Needing a replacement fast before my fish perished I ordered the replacement parts and was delighted with the fast delivery and excellent performance. I love this Eclipse Unit and the fast response of Marineland's delivery.

I have a small older Eclipse aquarium. I need a complete pump/filter for it. How do I tell if it’s a 1, 2 or 3? Can I still get all the parts I need?

Asked by: Fishlove18
The model information is molded directly into the pump/filtration assembly itself. Here are all the parts we have available on our older Eclipse systems: http://www.marineland.com/search.aspx?q=Eclipse#/?filter.brand=Marineland. BREX

on the motor itself we found a serial number do you have a serial number for your parts

Asked by: sprinkles
No, we typically put the lot code on the motor, as well as the model information. Most Eclipse parts are out of stock, however, since they have been discontinued for quite some time. BREX

Trying to put impeller back in filter and housing but doesn't close as though impeller is too long, but it's the same one that was in it. Am I missing a piece to filter part? I couldn't find any part that fell out in aquarium.

Asked by: Cinny
Connect the impeller to the housing cover first. Blades go into the housing cover, then push it up into the pump with magnet end going in first. If it will not fit, look inside pump for any warping. BREX

What part I need to buy?

I was given a 10 or 12 gallon tank. It is an eclipse 1 (10x20") but it has no filter system. Can I buy a whole set?
Asked by: Greatp07z
Judging by the dimensions, it is probably the Eclipse 1. You would need to buy the pump/filtration assembly, impeller, impeller housing/cover, intake tube, strainer, biowheel, and biowheel bearings. Oh, and the flexible motor mount. Parts can be ordered here: http://www.marineland.com/search.aspx?q=pfe1#/?filter.brand=Marineland BREX

Does the pump need any more parts?

The pump I'l be replacing with this has an intake tube that does to the bottom of the tank. Does this one not need that? Does it need any accessories at all (aside from the tank lid that it fits in) or is it plug & play?
Asked by: Freed
This is a replacement pump only, for the PFE1. It does not come with any other parts like the impeller, intake tube, strainer, etc. All of those would need to be purchased separately if you do not have them. BREX

I have the eclipse 10"Wx20"Lx20"H older model - replaced pump

Last night I had to install the new pump and it did fit well even though to part that puts the water across the filter has a much longer neck then the old pump.... had a fear of the whole pump motor being in the water, so I removed about 1 gallon from the 15 gallon tank. The bottom of the pump is in the water and is working well... is it safe to have this motor in the water and if so how much of the motor? Currently it is about half way up. I noticed an opening at the top of the area where the motor is housed that had what looked like a vent or some type of slot opening, so I was in fear of shorting the motor out.
Asked by: JodieC
If your unit was manufactured prior to the year 2000, the current motors will not fit properly without several other parts. If it was manufactured in 2000 or later, then it should fit fine, and the water level should be to the underside of the top frame of the tank. Approximately, half of the pump will be in the water. replacement filter pump

I have a regent aquarium which I believe was made for Walmart by you. It has the eclipse in hood filtration. The filter pump is model PL-TE1. I would like to order a replacement but can't find it in the online store.

Just recently I had the same replacement to make, I looked in my owners manual for the part number, then on the site you can put the part number in the search box and it appears, no problem if you use the part numbers.
