We have an explorer eclipse that is at least 10 years old and the pump just died. On the motor, it says “Eclipse PSFES 02”- would this pump be the correct replacement?

Asked by: Rosanne
Thanks for the information, Brex. I wonder how do you open the pump to get to the motor? I do not see any access or screws to be able to access it.

I have this pump in a pfe2 hood. What else do I need? I do not know how old it is. The hood has two f15t8 lights. I know I need about a 3"x10" filter of some kind and about a 7" bio-wheel. Are these parts still available and what model #'s. Thank you

All you have to do is plug this unit in and it should start pumping water correct?

Asked by: Puffyg
No, it requires an impeller as well, so you would need to install your old impeller or buy a new one. It also requires an impeller cover, intake tube, and strainer to complete the system. BREX

My filter pump for "PFES 12" system is not working after many years of usage. Is there any replacement parts for this model ? If not, what is the best solution to fix the problem ? Can I use multiple PFES 2 or 3 filter to replace it ?

Asked by: King
Hi King, Here is a link to the available replacement parts: http://www.marineland.com/search.aspx#/?filter.brand=Marineland&q=eclipse 12 parts. You either need the impeller or the motor, and are not going to be able to find the motor. The other sizes will not fit, and are also not available since all of these have been discontinued for years. It would basically mean replacing the entire tank. BREX

How can I disassemble this unite to replace the Impeller Assembly?

Asked by: csuf
Unplug it first, of course. Then remove the intake tube and strainer. This will leave behind a short "tube" which is actually part of the impeller cover. Using something that will help give grip (like a rubber jar opener or towel) grab this tube and pull down hard. If it doesn't want to remove, work it back and forth while pulling it down. BREX

does this include the impeller? or is there a way to purchase the entire assembly?

Asked by: zombiemom268
No, you would need to purchase it separately. They are both sold as individual items, along with the impeller cover for the bottom of the pump and the intake tube. Each item is sold alone. BREX

outdated pump

I have an old pfe2 model that looks nothing like this motor. Will this fit in place of the old motor and will the old tube fit on it?
Asked by: TonyPreimo210
No. If you have the "old" style, it has a very long impeller. To replace the motor, you would need to also purchase the impeller, impeller housing, intake tube, and flexible motor mount. BREX

Reduce water flow from PR3081, Eclipse 2 filter motor?

The water flow from the filter seems quite strong - is there a way to reduce water flow without damaging the motor? We have the Eclipse 2 setup on a 20 gallon aquarium. Thanks!
Asked by: ColinB
The diffuser at the end of the tray, where the water comes out, can be manuevered and adjusted somewhat. There is no flow control per se. BREX
