Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked as intended. After several years of use the old ones wore out making the bio wheels stop intermittently. Once these ones arrived changed them and the bio wheels worked as the day I first bought the filter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A necessity not to be taken for granted I have been using a Marineland Emperor 400 Bio-Wheel filter on my 30 long freshwater aquarium for, I would guess, maybe fifteen plus years. Over the years of use I have discovered that the Bio-Wheel bearings do need to be replaced occasionally. The Bio-Wheel axles appear, to me, to be fiberglass, and this harder material turning in the plastic Bio-Wheel bearings do wear the bearings in a downward and forward direction; in a pinch, (if the Bio-Wheel is not spinning consistently, and/or the Bearings are badly, worn), the bearings can be swapped from side to side / end for end which may help to allow Bio-Wheels to spin more consistently, until the bearings are replaced. - I have often wondered if a harder material could be used for these bearings, but then again, I guess that I would rather that the bearings wear out, and can be replaced, than have the Bio-Wheel axles wear. - I would recommend keeping an eye on the Bio-Wheel bearings and plan to replace them at some point in time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bio-Wheel bearings I purchased a filter that was unfortunately missing one of the bearings. Being able to order a new one took care of the problem of the bio-wheel not turning. Also was delivered in a timely manner.
