Intake Tube Extension for the Emperor® PF280B and PF400B.

If you are ordering an extension tube for the Emperor PF400 you will need the mid-level strainer as well in order to connect the extension tube to the intake tube.

Emperor Mid-Level Strainer– PR11297

Do you still carry the original intake tube that did not have the mid level strainer part? My new intake with the mid level strainer will not stay together. I never had this problem with the original one. Any ideas on keeping it together? thanks!

Asked by: daskathaus
No, we do not, and your current one should stay connected unless there is a large fish roughing it up. You can use the intake tube with just the bottom strainer and leave out the two middle pieces if your tank is not overly tall. BREX

How long is it. I need to go about 6 inches longer than my stock one

Asked by: Bone daddy
It is the same length as the original one that came with the unit. You would need to also add a mid-level strainer to attach it to the other extension tube. If it is too long, you simply shorten it with a sharp knife. BREX

can I get a coupling to add this to my existing extension? Thanks.

Asked by: alisonR
That would be the mid-level strainer, PR11297, which is currently out of stock. You might try some of the main online vendors, like Amazon, Drs. Foster and Smith, etc. BREX

I purchased the extension tube for the emperor 280 but its too long for my tank can i cut it?

Asked by: Emjay
Yes, you sure can! An Exacto blade or sharp kitchen knife easily cuts it to the length you require. BREX

Is it smaller on one end so u can fit it into existing tube then connect the strainer end on bottom

Asked by: Reen333
It connects to the mid-level strainer, not the intake tube. Either end of it will connect to either strainer, but neither will connect to the intake tube. BREX

Do I need another piece to attach the extension to my tube

Asked by: Fish monster
Yes, you would need the mid-level strainer, but we are currently out of stock. http://www.marineland.com/Products/aquarium-parts/Filtration-Products-and-Skimmers/Emperor-Parts/Mid-Level-Strainer.aspx. You might try some online vendors that carry parts, however. BREX
