Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awful noise gone A little research suggested replacing the impeller making the noise in filtration system after cleaning didn't work. That little piece fixed everything and it's nice and quiet again. Fish are relieved. Thank you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous Products I have been using Marineland products for over 20 years. I am still using filters that I purchased more than 20 years ago. Occasionly I replace a part but fortunately not often. A few weeks ago I ordered three parts for my old but reliable equipment. I have 8 Emperor 400's and just had to replace a lid that I accidently broke. also purchased a few impellars for the 400 and a few gaskets. I am also still using some vintage Penguin 300's, a 330 canister filter, several Magnum 250's and two 350"s.I am sold on their productsJim Kuhn

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Emperor 400 I had JBJ 24g office tank. I replaced it with a regular 29g rectangular tank with the addition of the Marineland Emperor 400 filter. I like the versatility of this filter. I run filter pad and carbon media cartridge on side, and a filter pad and Zeovit on the other side. Occasional you'll need to clean the spray bars for the bio wheels, an easy maintenance thing. My tank is staying cleaner, less algae than the all-in-one approach JBJ had. I also use the same filter on my bosses 29g bow front tank and he has a thriving softie tank as well. I have used the Marineland filters for years with fresh and saltwater and find them very durable. Easy to find replacement parts too. Very quiet operation as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good stuff This purchase was a replacement part for one of my Emperor filters. Not glad I had to replace anything but very glad it was easy to order, reasonably priced and got here promptly. This was for my Marineland 150 gal. tank, which I love!! I also just got a 60 gal. Marineland tank and stand. I use Marineland products for the most part and have been very happy with them.

When would emperor 400 impeller will be in stock...spend too much money for the filter. now the impeller make too much noise and now not even replacement not in stock anywhere.

Asked by: Juan1126
We have a shipment on the way, but it may be a few weeks yet. If your filter was quiet at first, and got noisy over a month or two, do you have sand in the aquarium? Sand destroys impellers, regardless of type of filter system. You have to put something either in or over the bottom strainer to prevent it from getting into the filter. If you have a marine tank or hard water, take out the impeller and soak it in white vinegar. I do see it is in stock here: https://www.amazon.com/Marineland-Impeller-Assembly-Emperor-Aquarium/dp/B007R56O24/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1509720610&sr=8-1&keywords=emperor+400+impeller. Additionally, you may have warranty on this part so please call our Care Team at 1-800-322-1266 or alternatively, you may email them at techsupport.marineland@spectrumbrands.com. BREX

How do you find parts? I put the part numbers in and nothing...they need to make the site easier to look up parts...I have an emperor 400

Asked by: Bswanson
Generally, you visit the product page and click on the link for parts. Pretty simple, actually. http://www.marineland.com/Products/aquarium-filters-and-protein-skimmers/emperor-saltwater-filter-freshwater-filter.aspx#parts. If your part is not on the page, we don't sell it separately. BREX

how do i remove for cleaning the impeller

Asked by: orly
Pop the spray bars out of the flow manifold housing, then pull it up and out of the filter box. Once this is out, pull the flow manifold cover off of the bottom, and then the impeller can be pulled out of the manifold housing. BREX
