Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't pay for expedited shipping!!!! I ordered the impeller because the one in my H.O.T. Magnum filter had broken after many years of great service. The filter was inoperable. I ordered the impeller within hours and paid for expedited shipping, thinking I would get it within 2 days or so. NO SUCH LUCK! It took 5 days for me to receive it (it took 48 hours to ship it. Who does that any more?) and it wasn't even shipped overnight. I wasted my money paying for expedited shipping and got nothing for it. The impeller, however, is working great. Next time I'll order off Amazon.

I have a hot magnum external canister style filter. Is this the correct impeller?

Asked by: nackman
No, it is not. You need the impeller for the MaxiJet Pro 1200 powerhead. BREX

Our impeller has broken and we need a new one. Are there instructions for putting the impeller into the impeller module?

Asked by: Ralph Plebuch
Basically you squeeze in on the sides of the module to pop it open, remove the old one, insert the new one and snap the module back together. Push the rubber tip up into the top half of the module for a firm connection. If you still have questions, call our care team at 1-800-322-1266. BREX

Why does the new impeller does not work? It seems flops out of its socket and get caught on the bottom of the casing

Asked by: cheechee
It needs to be inserted first into the impeller module, the bottom half of which encloses it. BREX

My filter makes an awful noise. Would replacing the impeller help. It sounds like it is hitting something as it spins

Asked by: Marilyn
Depends on why it is making that noise. First, remove it and clean any hair or debris off of it. Swab out the motor as well with a q tip. Use vinegar if you tend to have hard water. You can even soak the impeller in vinegar for a few minutes. If the noise does not improve, then yes, a new impeller will fix the problem as long as the sides of the motor are not damaged in some way. BREX

The magnet splits in two. Do I need to buy a new one?

The magnet spilts in two every time the filter is powered and stops functioning afterwards. Should I buy a new magnetic impeller assembly or is there a quick fix for that?
Asked by: fakiho
You would definitely need a new magnet. However, I am not sure why the filter would repeatedly do this as this is not normal. Please call or email us directly so we may try to resolve this issue in such a way as to prevent it from happening again. BREX

Impeller for Magnum 250hs

I need to replace the impeller is this the right one since it is not the same model as mine. It's the only 250 series I can find. Thank you
Asked by: mooseluver
It is the only 250 canister we manufacture. We used to manufacture a Magnum 220. If you have the hang off the back of the tank canister, with a D shape, this is the correct impeller. BREX
