Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great overall products both in quality and design. As I have mentioned before is some of my reviews of the Marineland products and parts supply...I enjoy doing my own repair and upgrading of the products I own. I own a few Marineland Pump/Filters and buy all my parts from Marineland. Nice dealing with well engineered and quality products. My hat is off to your company. I shall continue to use and purchase Marineland products and parts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needed Maintenance My Magnum 350 is still running strong after 15 years. It just needs regular replacement of several items to keep it running efficiently. This magnet is one of those items that needs to be replaced from time to time. When it comes to replacement parts there is nothing better than the original equipment. Do your homework though because there are other sources that offer better prices occasionally.

I have a 350 magnum fish filter. It has recently started chirping. It’s a few years old but appears to be in good shape. I have a new impeller that I haven’t used yet. I am not sure how to take the magnet off the old one. I don’t want to brake it.

Asked by: Trees
You can try soaking your old impeller in distilled white vinegar first if you prefer as this may take care of the problem. To take it off, notice there are small white "tabs" or "clips" gripping the magnet. You need to lift those up then gently separate the two. BREX

How do I remove the existing magnet from the impeller

Asked by: Harryok3
You will notice little "tabs" gripping the magnet. You need to carefully pull them up to disconnect the two of them. BREX

My magnet is damaged and the plastic cover is partially peeled away. I've been using a very fine charcoal and I think the damage is from the fine grit getting into the impeller. Is this possible? If so would the pellet charcoal work better?

Asked by: CARL pesa
Yes, it is definitely possible. Make sure you are not filling the carbon media container all the way to the top. You want to keep it below the little core piece inside the container, or approximately 2" below the top so it won't get pulled into the impeller. Pellet charcoal may help. BREX

Where exactly does this item fit? Can you provide a sketch or graphic of where it goes?

Asked by: Gogo
It slides over the white plastic body of this piece, and the two clips near the blades grip it. BREX

Magnum 350 Impeller stopped working after 1.5 years. In taking apart magnet still feels very strong - What else could be wrong? Do I need to replace magnet, even though it feels very strong?

Asked by: KSH6
Make sure there are no hard water deposits, etc, in the motor that could be interfering with it and that the impeller is still spinning with it. BREX

Will this fit the Magnum 500 filter.? If not, are parts for that filter available?

Asked by: Cneill7502
We do not make a Magnum 500 and never have, so I'm not sure if this magnet will fit your filter. We have made Magnum 220, 330 and 350. This magnet fits the 350. BREX

My filter does not pump as much water as it use too. The impeller looks ok. Is this a magnet issue?

Asked by: Wyatt
Possibly, or it could be a cleaning issue. If you are using only water to clean, try distilled white vinegar, and soak the impeller assembly for about 15 minutes. Swab out the region in the motor where the assembly resides, as well, with a q tip and vinegar. Also, clean or replace the vinyl tubing, and clean out the disconnect valves. Any buildup in these areas will slow flow down. BREX
