Biowheel question

our Biowheel 150 no longer turns (not even very slowly or occasionally). Should we replace the biowheel even though the filter assembly instructions says never to replace it?
Asked by: gwen
Gwen, Unless there is damage to the Bio-Wheel itself, we would not recommend replacing it. Try cleaning the bearings (U-shaped clips that holds the Bio-Wheel in place) and also thoroughly clean the impeller by soaking in white distilled vinegar for 2-3 hours. And don't forget to clean the intake tube assembly and motor well also! Any of these components can play a part in a lowered/reduced flow rate, therefore causing the Bio-Wheel to stop spinning. ML2

Do I need to replace my biowheel 150? It has begun to turn sporadically. Filter is 5 months old.

No, it is working perfectly. Once they build up bioload, they become weighted down, and should spin, stop, spin, stop, spin stop, at various speeds. BREX

What comes with the wheel? I need the bearings only .

Just the biowheel. Bearings are sold separately. BREX
