What is the part number for the led lights for the 20 gallon kit? The blue and one of the white led lights have burned out and I need to order a replacement for the led lights.
We would be happy to assist you with this. Please call our Consumer Relations Team at 1-800-322-1266. We make several versions of our kits, and would need to know where it was purchased to ensure you receive the proper lights.

I have purchased a 10 gallon half moon kit the cover is clear acrylic and has cut out in front to feed do you sell any other tank cover for this tank?
Good morning! This is the only lid that is manufactured for this tank kit.

if I purchase a marineland Led 29 gallon kit, would the lighting in it be sufficient for a planted tank?
We would recommend low light needing plants only, like Java Moss and Java Fern.

How can I purchase just the LED hood for a 55 gallon tank
These are sold through local fish stores, as well as many websites. I would recommend www.amazon.com or www.petmountain.com to name a few.

Different Colored LED Lights?
Hello, I just got this used and would like to replace the LED light portion specifically. I was wondering if these pieces were sold separately, and if they came in other colors than the white / blue variety. Thank you.
The light bar is sold separately, but it only comes in blue/white or blue only.

We just bought the 20 gallon kit and we are wondering a couple things about the heater. 1. Can it be completely submerged
2. Question is how can I tell what temperature it is set at? There doesnt seem to be any visual indicators or temperature markings?
Yes, it is fully submersible. It does not have numbers on it, instead, it has a + and a - sign. The mark in between the two represents 78 degrees. If you need it warmer, turn it slightly toward the plus sign, if you need it cooler, turn it slightly toward the minus sign.

I added a second filter and now I can't open my hood completely. Am I supposed to remove that tab on the back left side of the hood piece in order for the filter to fit properly? It doesn't appear that this tab can be removed. Thank you
I would need to know what size tank you own, and/or which size hood you own in order to properly answer the question. However, if there are grooves outlining an area, typically, they are there so that you can cut out the section for this purpose. Please email us directly with which hood you own, so I can be sure to answer you correctly.

Does the salwater kit come with everything you need? What does it actually come with?
They come with everything you might need for fresh water and almost everything for salt water. If you intend to do a marine tank, you will still need salt, a hydrometer, a quality test kit, another light, and possibly a skimmer. You also need substrate no matter which type you intend to have, fresh or salt, water. Gravel for fresh, sand, aragonite, crushed coral, etc, for salt water.
It comes with the hood, led lighting, a heater, a net, food and water conditioner samples. You will need to buy additional food and water conditioner.

I have the 10 gallon kit, can my heater be submerged
I see the min, water line indicator, and there is a red dial at top, can the top part be underwater?
Yes, the entire heater is meant to be submerged under water. The water level cannot drop below that minimum water level line.

I bought the marineland 38 gallon starter kit. Are the led light strips that came with this kit capable of supporting a reef aquarium?
Can you also give specific details on the light.
type of light so I know were to buy it
No, they are not. The light sticks are around 5000 Kelvin, suitable for just natural daylight for freshwater fish. You would need to supplement them with a Reef LED. Those are 14,000 Kelvin and perfect for most reef tanks. They will support soft, but not hard, corals.

I need more light
I have a marineland 20 gallon kit with the led lighting white/blue. I'm using freshwater, and let the system adjust for two weeks before I added four tiger fish and six plants about almost three weeks ago. The fish and three of the plants are doing fine. The smaller plants are beginning to wilt, and lose their colour. Experienced aquarium friends say the leds are not providing enough light. How can I boost the light?
Not necessarily true, but it is possible. Plants are grown with only their roots submerged. When a hobbyist buys a plant, it is fully submerged which causes all the old leaves to just die off. The rest of the plant is just fine. So it depends on what type of plants you own. Anubias, java fern and cryptocoryne will do okay under this light. However, if you want nicer plants as well, I would recommend supplementing with the Hidden Accent LED Strip Blue. It comes in a 17" length. It will provide the proper light for all but the most difficult of plants.

My heater has condensation inside of it. Is there something wrong with it?
Probably not. It is normal to have some condensation, especially if the heater is new.

The filter that came with the tank doesn't appear to be strong enough? Am I able to fit it with a bigger filter system ?
That depends on which kit you bought. Some of them will take larger filters. The filters that come with them though, are definitely suited to the size tank they have been paired with so if you are having an issue, you may need to take the filter apart to clean it, reduce feeding, or do partial water changes more frequently for the number or type of fish you are keeping.

Front seam looks like it's going to blow.
We purchased this tank in July 2015. I just recently noticed that the glass has seperatated on the right front. You can feel the front glass.. and all that's holding it together is the silicone. We now have to drain it out and get rid of our fish and baby fish
We have never had any issues like this before and are very sad about it. Other than the tank about to explode it has been amazing!
The tank is level and we cannot figure out why this is happening. This is the 29 gallon bow front starter kit tank.
We are sorry to hear this! However, we don't make a 29 gallon bow starter kit. We do make a 28 gallon euro tank or a regular 29 gallon tank that is rectangular and comes as a starter kit. If you believe this is our tank, there will be a white sticker on the tank, with a ship's anchor on it. Please give us a call direct, or email us, and we would be happy to help you with this issue.

Turning on and off the LEDs, and is the heater adjustable?
Hi, I am considering purchasing the 20 gallon starter kit and have two questions:
1. Is turning on and off the LEDs controlled by the regular type of switches? Previously I purchased a Day/Night light LED system from another brand, but the control was a touch switch and there was no way that I could use a light timer to control the on and off.
2. Is the heater adjustable?
Please advise. Thanks!
The LED light has a switch that allows all lights on, blue lights only or off, and cannot be plugged into a timer. The heater is adjustable but does not have individual temperature settings, it just has a +/- knob.

Will the stock LED light system of the 37 gallon kit support freshwater plants?
I have the 37 gallon kit with the led light hood setup. I am curious if the led lights are capable of maintaining a light to medium planted aquarium? Thank you for the concern.
No, they will not, you will need to supplement them. I would recommend the Hidden LED which has blue and white leds, and is 6500 kelvin. It is perfect for the job.

LED lighting for a 150 gal tall heavily planted freshwater aquarium
What LED fixture(s) would you recommend for a heavily planted freshwater 150 gallon tall aquarium?
The Aquatic Plant LED x 2. Some people like the Reef Capable for heavily planted tanks. They can work well, however, they can cause a lot of algae as well, but as long as you are very heavily planted, and lightly stocked with fish, the Reef Capable may be a viable option.

38 Gallon Bowfront Hidden Led Specs
I purchased the 38 gallon Bowfront that came with the hidden LED Lighting strips. I was curious what the specs are on the lighting. It appears to be 2 - 8" sections of LED Light. Does anyone know how many watts these are? Wanting to determine how much if any light I need to supplement with for a medium light planted tank.
With LED lights, we don't recommend them per wattage for these types of applications. Wattage is a rating of energy, and will not give you the amount of light needed for plants or corals. It was by luck that 2.5 watts to 4 watts per gallon worked out to be the right amount of light for live plants, many years ago. What you need is Kelvin rating, specifically, 6500 Kelvin, for live plants. These lights are not more than 5000-5500 Kelvin and will not support live plants. However, we do make/sell a HIdden LED separately that IS 6500 Kelvin, and it WILL definitely support live plants. I would recommend substituting this for the standard daylight LEDS that come with this kit.

LED light upgrade
I have the Marineland 10 gallon aquarium kit with the bio wheel filter. Is it possible to upgrade the LED light to a brighter unit as the light does not seem very bright?
The Marineland 10 gallon LED kit only has one light bar that will fit into the hood assembly. However, depending of the type of aquarium you have set up, you might be interested in using a glass canopy and LED strip light.

Hello my family just purchased the 29 gallon Aquarium and we were not sure if you completely submerge the water heater or not? I don't want anyone to get electrocuted. Thanks a bunch!
Yes, you definitely want to submerge it completely and it should always be submerged. Unplug it prior to water changes.

The filter keeps shutting off
I just purchased the 29-gallon kit. I installed the filter system and it was working fine for couple hours then it stopped. I felt the back of the unit and it was very warm so I unplugged for about 20 min the plugged back in and it was operating fine again.. I checked on the tank this morning and the same problem, the back is warm and the filter is shut off. Do I have a bad filter or is this normal?
Thank you for your question. Typically, this would indicate that there is something that is stuck in the impeller assembly and not allowing it to rotate exceptionally well. Please remove the impeller assembly, and clean down inside of the housing where the impeller is seated. Also, rinse the impeller off to make sure there is nothing stuck around the magnet as well.

Is my Aquarium of tempered glass?
Buy a 55-gallon aquarium kit and I need to make a hole in one of its walls by which I want to know if my Aquarium have all tempered glass, and not be so know which is what can I do?
The entire tank is tempered and cannot be drilled. Drilling voids the warranty on our tanks, anyway.

what lights do i need for my corals and anemones? i just got the kit for 55 but not sure if those lights are suitable?
I just bought the led aquarium kit 55 and am turning it into a salt water tank. I just need to know if these lights are suitable for corals and plants or if i need to purchase different ones and if that is the case what kind do i need and where can i get them ?
The Marineland 55 LED Kit is not suited for coral growth at all. If you are interested in maintaining coral, we would recommend the Reef Capable LED light fixture with a glass canopy over the aquarium. You can find these available at local pet stores and online, depending on location.

What are total watts and Kelvin temp of LED hood of 37 gal aquarium?
Total watts would be 42, kelvin rating is 5500. It is not suitable for live plants or corals, wattage merely tells you how much energy it will use.

My heater light turns off and on? Is this a problem or is this automatic?
Our Marineland heaters should cycle on for a few minutes (the red light will be on on during a heating cycle) and then the light will go off and the heater will rest. This is its intended design to slowly increase the temperature so that any fish which may be in the tank do not become stressed. The heater will continue on this stairstep-based heating until it reaches its set temperature. Once the heater reaches its set temp, it will not kick back on for another heating cycle unless the temperature in the tank drops below the desired, set temp.
