Hood/Light Assembly Broke on 55 gallon long tank.
Our aquarium has 2 lids with hinges and the lid has a spot for the light to be inserted. My hinges have broke off the lids and one of my lights does not work. Do you sell a replacement hood assembly and if so what is the part number? Thanks!
The entire hood is sold as a separate product. However, you would be covered under warranty for both the hinges and the light. Just give us a call or email us directly.

Do you no longer make a 15 gal. aquarium? That seemed a perfect size.
I've had my Marineland 15 gal. tank for many years and am looking to replace it with one of exactly the same dimensions.
Yes, we sure do, but it is not a popular size, I don't think. You may need to ask a local fish store to special order one for you.

Marineland 75G Aquarium Majesty Ensemble LED Light
I'm in Edmonton, Canada and have been looking at the 75g Majesty Ensemble in the local Petsmart. I'm interested in knowing more about the LED lights. For example, how may watts, PAR/PUR, lumens, CRI does this light have? This is a 36" that adjusts to fit a 48" tank, correct? Also, are there adjustable plastic tabs on the back part of the glass canopy that can be adjusted so heaters and filters can be positioned where ever I want? Thank you in advance.
The info you seek would be on our site under the LED lighting. I'm not sure which LED light Petsmart is offering with that kit, but you would go to that page and click on product manuals and instructions. We have a chart there.
There are two glass canopies for that tank. Each one has a 24" long plastic strip you can use, not use, or cut to allow filters, etc, to fit.

why is the filter so loud?
have a 10 gallon kit and is loud?
You might have substrate inside the impeller you should remove the impeller and clean the inside. If you are using the extension tube with mid level strainer take those off and just put on the strainer.

Within the last year we purchased one of your kits (20gal) that has the LED lights. This replaced a tank we had with traditional flo lights and a Whisper filter. Everything is great with tank except we are having a horrible time with continuous algae bloom in the water. Nothing we have tried so far will help for long. We have tried lowering temp on tank, reducing amount of time with lights on, closing curtains in room, covering with a towel for up to a week. Those things help a tiny bit but we cannot maintain clear water in this tank. We always end up with cloudy green water. We feed very little and usually every other day, tank is not near a heat source or close to a window. We do regular water changes and test the water; which always comes up with good levels. We have not tried any chemicals in the water to rectify this. Is this something seen often with this type of filter (Bio Wheel)? Can you offer any suggestions on how to stop this from happening over and over? We have a 75Gal tank with a different type of filter on it also ;and have never had this problem. This is our first Bio Wheel filter and I feel it must have something to do with our issue. I look forward to hearing your response and suggestions.
I have the same tank except the 55 gallon and 10 gallon I haven't had any problems with algae. I don't know how many or what kind of fish you have but that could cause waste and help algae. What I would do is if you have another place for your fish is drain your tank and if there is algae on the glass tanke a razer or sponge to get it off be careful not to scratch your glass. Then I would take hot water and wash any decor inside the tank and some of the gravel. You could also use hot water on the bio wheel but this will kill the good bacteria also. Cory cats would be a good fish and a snail if you don't mind them since they are bottom feeders. If that doesn't work or you'd rather not do all that you can try Marineland Algae Eliminator!

Why does the filter on the 10 gallon seem too large?
It stands up too high and it's loud because it can't seem to run. Also the covers on it won't stay on because the pipe that goes into the tank is just too long to fit correctly.
The extension tube and mid level intake strainer come with for the 20 gallon tanks which are deeper just add the regular stainer on the tube that goes with the impeller and it will fit. Make sure it's pushed down far enough into the filter so your lids will fit.

My aquarium sprung a leak
I came home from work and found my 10 gal. aquarium had about 25% of the water left. I have had the aquarium for 4 months and have never moved it since day one. What can I do? I have a few fish in it and no where to put them. Any suggestions?

Can I purchase a LED unit for a Marineland Half Moon 20 acquarium?
The existing unit is non functional
We do, called the Universal Led under our sister name Tetra. Under Marineland we carry the LED Aquarium Light. This one lies on top of the canopy, instead of clipping to the back of the tank.

Does Marineland make acrylic kits?
Have you made any changes to your 29gallon bio-wheel glass aquarium kit in the past few months?
What is included?
We have made some small acrylic kits, and those are constantly changing. In regards to the 29 gallon kits, we have several versions on the market. What comes with them will vary, depending on the market, but they all come with a full hood with a led light, a heater, and a filter, along with some samples.

I was at Petsmart today looking at the MARINELAND® 60 Gallon Heartland Aquarium Ensemble: are the bottoms of these tanks drillable
I'm replacing a 25 year old tank being used on a room divider that is plumbed on the bottom so need to get it drilled in the same locations as the existing.
No, they are tempered and cannot be drilled. That would void the warranty anyway.

We'd like to purchase a complete fish tank set of 55 gallons or more to take to our home overseas where only 220 electricity is available. Which of your products can run on that current? Thank you.
None of them - all of our products are rated for the U.S.; 110 -120 V.

Dimensions of a certain aquarium?
I am thinking about buying the 20 gal BioWheel LED Aquarium Kit but I would like to know the height, width, and length of the tank so I know where to put it.
That is just a standard sized 20 gallon tank. All such tanks are 24" long x 12" wide, and 16" high.

filter making excessive "splashing" noise?
My 200 filter works well and the impeller doesn't make much noise. However, it seems to rather make a lot of noise when putting water out. I tried adding more water to see if that fixed anything and it didn't. Is there any possible way I can make it to where it stops making so much noise with thr water?
Make sure the spillway itself is in the water - this means the water level must be to the top frame of the tank. Also, if it is a new system, remove the biowheel and float it in the water for a day or so to allow it to absorb water more quickly.

Slow Leak Along Vertical Seam at one of the Corners.
I have the 10 Gallon aquarium. Today I noticed some water down near one of the corners. It appears that there are a couple points along the vertical seam where water is slowly seeping out. What should I do? I purchased the aquarium kit in March of 2014. I live in Canada.

I have the 37gal LED Aquarium w/ simple stand - Hood/canopy and lighting for freshwater plants.
I am wondering what kind of hood/canopy and lighting system I would need to purchase in order to sufficiently grow freshwater plants in this aquarium set-up.
You could either just add the Hidden LED light, which is 6500 Kelvin and 460 nm, and should grow any plant you want, or you would replace your hood with a glass canopy and a 24-36 inch Aquatic Plant Lighting System.

will the leds grow aqutic plants
I just got the 20gal led set up and i was wanting to know if they are able to grow aqutic plants and if so what lve of light do the led produce
Not really, no. Low light plants might survive, but they won't grow or bloom. The Kelvin rating is only 6000. You would want to supplement it with something like the Hidden LED which is 6500 Kelvin and 460 nm.

broken hood hinge
When I was putting the hinges in place on the aquarium for the hood to latch into, one snapped and broke. The other one attached to the aquarium just fine. So I have one hinge holding the hood on and not the other. It makes it difficult to leave the hood open when I am getting into the aquarium. can I buy a replacement? and where?
Just email or call us directly with your name, address and phone number - we would be happy to send a replacement one to you.

How does the heater work?
Hi, I just got this aquarium kit, but the heater really confuses me. I know you can move the knob to plus or minus but it doesn't show what temp it is set to, so do you need to move it numerous times to plus or minus to change its temp or how does it work?
The + is the maximum which represents 92 degrees Fahrenheit. The - is 68 degrees, the very minimum it can be set at. The little ^ sign represents 78 degrees, the ideal. You want to place the heater in the tank, fully submerged, for 15 minutes, before plugging it in. At that time, you should have the knob lined up with the ^. Allow the heater to regulate itself for 24 hours, observing the temp off and on during that time, on your thermometer. If it appears to be running for, for example, then turn the knob one "click" towards the +, and leave it for an hour, then check back. Any time you feel the need to adjust the heater, always move a very short distance, and give the heater an hour or two to make a difference to the temp in the tank before adjusting again.

Is this aquarium ideal for a reef tank? Is there any lights I could put in the 37 gallon Eclipse Bio Wheel tank to have live rock in it?
Is this aquarium ideal for a reef tank? Is there any lights I could put in the 37 gallon Eclipse Bio Wheel tank to have live rock in it? How can I change the mirror background on the tank and make it blue like the reef? sorry for so many questions, I'm just very interested…….
Technically you can modify this into a reef tank by removing one of the two bulbs and replacing with an itinic blue. This way you will have both the white and blue wavelengths of light that coral need to be sustained. The mirror background however, cannot be removed.

Can I use an Emperor 280 filter with the 10 gallon LED hood?
I would like to upgrade the filter in the Marineland 10 gallon LED aquarium kit. Will the Emperor 280 work the with LED light hood? I am not sure if the opening in the back is big enough.
No, the opening would not be big enough, and the filter would possibly cause issues for any fish residing in that small of a tank.

Could you give me the dimensions of the 20-gallon kit with the hood.
It is a standard 20 high: 24 x 12 x 16. The hood adds about 3/4" to the height.

Do the dimensions you show include the hood?
No, those dimensions are for the tank itself.

Compatibility with other hoods
I've had the 10 gallon version of the kit for 2 years and the part on the hood itself that connects to the hinges snapped off. Are there any compatible fluorescent hoods that would fit my LED Kit 10? (i.e. "Recessed Full Aquarium Light Hoods") If not, what other hoods are compatible with this item that could be purchased as a replacement?
The 75205 is a Marineland standard recessed fluorescent full hood that fits a 10 gallon tank. Under our Tetra brand name the 33148 30" LED Aquarium Hood will fit the 10 gallon tank you own.

Does this led light help grow the plants ?
No. You would need the Aquatic Plant Lighting System. The Hidden LED light is also 6500 Kelvin, and will grow plants as well.

How high can the water level be on the heater?
We have the 10 gallon LED aquarium kit. When the water is filled up, it goes much of the way toward the top of the heater. In fact, the water level is often partway up the red temperature adjustment knob, and sometimes even slightly above the point where the power cord comes out of the top of the heater. I have tried raising the heater so that the water doesn't come up so high on it, but the aquarium lid pushes it back down when I shut it. Is this situation normal or okay? I get a bit nervous at times when it comes to electrical appliances and water. In addition, the aquarium is in a bedroom where it is not plugged in to a GFCI protected plug. Is that dangerous?
The heater is fully submersible and it is safe to fully cover it with water.
Just make sure you have all of your equipment plugged into a power strip with surge protection and you should be fine.
