can i get the exact outside dimensions of the bottom trim on a180 gallon tank? i need dimension for a steel stand. i know about the warranty. also whats up with the long lead time on ordering a standard non drilled 180?

Asked by: Mike S
Height is 1-7/8". Dimensions of tank are 72-7/16 x 24-7/16 x 25-3/8, which includes the frame. All larger tanks are hand made when ordered. We don't build them in bulk because they are not common such as the 10, 29 and 55 gallon tanks. Once your store places an order for one with their distributor, the distributor calls us, and we have to make it for you. Again, it is hand made. Materials are generally on hand, but not only does it have to be built, it has to cure/dry. All of this takes time. Average lead time in most cases, depending on how many orders are I house, is 1-2 weeks. If there are a lot of orders, or we are short of some supplies needed, it could be a little longer. BREX

Can the top frame be removed?

Asked by: RyanLo
No, of course not, as it pertains to the integrity of the tank. If removed, the tank will bow and eventually break. BREX

Hello, I just bought a 220 gallon tank with 2 corner overflows. I noticed that one of the outer brace corners is broken. Could or will this affect the integrity of the tank? I understand these are prone to leaking. Should I redo the silicone?

Asked by: Alsaquarium3
I would recommend emailing a picture to us at techsupport@marineland.com. We need to see what you are observing in order to properly answer the question. BREX

I have a tank that has been in my garage a few years. I believe it is a 30 tall or 30 high. But I cannot find the product on your site. Is it a discontinued item. And if it has been dry for about 6 years would the silicone be compromised?

Asked by: Stoyk
Sounds like possibly a 37 gallon tank, but I would need the dimensions to know for sure. The silicone could be compromised, yes, but the only way to find out is to fill it up. So I would recommend filling it up somewhere safe, and letting it sit for a few days to see what happens. If it has been stored properly and safely, it may also be just fine. BREX

The plastic in the middle of the top of my 37 gallon tank broke.  Will this be a problem?

Asked by: Dane202
Yes, the center brace is critically important to the integrity of the tank. You need to either replace the entire top frame, not an easy job, if you can even find a store that will order the frame for you, or replace the tank. BREX

Asked by: mmimura
No, that will not support the pressure points of the tank properly. I would recommend purchasing a Majesty stand or some other aquarium stand for it. BREX

Your standard 120 gal tank (48") has clear silicone but similarly sized tanks have black silicone.  I think I read your tanks are hand-made. Can Marineland just substitute the tube of black silicone for the tube of clear to make a 120 with black silicone?

Asked by: Gordie_Z
No, unfortunately, that would be a custom order, and we don't do such orders any longer. The 120XH uses black silicone, however. BREX

Asked by: henri
I see that these aquariums say they have a "Limited Lifetime Warranty". How long, in years, do you consider "Lifetime"? Does the warranty cover any issue that came from Marineland?

Asked by: Blackdrako3000
"Lifetime" refers to the life of the tank. So once it is replaced, your warranty is complete. That could be 20 years and if we are still in business, we would cover it. It does not cover wear and tear issues or misuse. It covers any manufacturer's defects as long as it is on a manufactured aquarium stand. If it is on a custom stand or a piece of furniture, the warranty is one year only and only on the tank, nothing else. BREX

Im looking to purchase a 150 gallon Marineland Tank with dimensions of 72x18x28.  The dealer has one tank with 2 braces front to back on top and bottom.  A second aquarium with 1 brace centered on top and bottom.  Was there a change to 2 braces?

Asked by: LVS JR
Yes, we have made some changes to some of the larger tanks, moving them from 1 to 2 braces or 2 to 3 braces. To make sure it is our tank, look for a sticker with a ship's anchor and the words "built by" on it. BREX
