The revolutionary design of the new Marineland Multi-Stage C-Series Canister Filter forces water to pass through the filter media trays, and not around them. With virtually no bypass, and a three-stage filtration process, only sparkling-clean water can re-circulate into your tank—regardless of size or type of aquarium.

The key to this process is our special internal design and three-stage approach that passes the water through a series of specialized filter media. It’s a design that delivers the best available technology in mechanical, chemical and biological filtration… and it’s a design that is unmatched for capturing particulates.

C-Series Canister Filters is rated 3.381 out of 5 by 84.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't be happier. I've had my c160 for close to about 5 years. It's a great canister filter. Still running flawlessly. When I first purchased it through user error the hoses weren't installed properly and it leaked a tad because of me. I called marineland and they helped me fix my problem and even sent out new hoses as geture of good faith. Marineland has always stood behind their products and will gladly go an extra 10 miles to ensure customer satisfaction. I'm so pleased with this company that am setting up another aquarium in another room and will be purchasing an additional canister.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy C 220 is garbage. I measured the flow when it was new. Flow was under 120 g.p.h. should have been 220. Now it's less then 40 gal per hour. No matter what I do, the flow doesn't increase. Compete junk. Store won't return it. I'll never buy anything from marineland ever again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from C530 Filter does it's job well. The only real flaw (and it's a big one), is removing the top/pump. The cheapo jippo plastic the pry handles are made of breaks nearly every time the top is removed for cleaning. I would never purchase another one unless this issue is redesigned and made break proof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The filter seems to work great hooked it up yesterday. I got my 160/30gL canaster it didn't have any meida with it. I fig I had to buy it extra. So I called an the guy I talked to was very nice. An he sent me everything I needed no charge. From what I have experienced with them so far is great. Got my meida in less then a week very helpful. That with my 30gal bio wheel seems very good for my reef tank

Rated 4 out of 5 by from C-220 appears to be a good quality filter for the price. I purchased the C-220 Canister Filter along with the 56 gallon Column Ensemble (see review...sorry, 2 thumbs down on tank) in November. The filter appears to be of good quality for the price. It sets up and breaks down easily. The C-220 provides good circulation, filtering and runs quiet. This is my initial take on the C-220. I will update this rating after I have had it for a while to see how the filter holds up and how the warranty guarantee is handled.

The prime button on this filter canister is completely stuck, will not move at all. How do you on stick it?

Asked by: Judy A
There are two things you can try. Be sure to try each of them 2-3 times, as once may not be enough. One is to place the palm of one hand over the button, and take the heel of your other hand, and pressing into the back of the first hand, press down hard with both hands, simultaneously. I prefer this method. The second way is to place the canister on a surface at about waist high. After unhooking all 4 latches, lift the two lift handles (ones without the chrome hinges that flop downward), straight up simultaneously and GENTLY push them just a touch past their easy stopping point. Use very gentle force, do not push too hard as you do not want to break the latches. You are essentially trying to release the pressure. The motorhead should be properly placed on the canister body during this of course.BREX

My primer button is stuck and I have tried all the suggested "options" and nothing will work, what do I do now?

Asked by: Kileym15
Depends on whether it is within the 3 year warranty or not. Please give our Consumer Relations Team a call at 1-800-322-1266 if you are still under warranty.BREX

Primer button is stuck, I've had the c-160 a little over a month, how do I fix it.

Asked by: Bdiv
There are two possible ways. One is to place one hand with the palm covering the primer button, then take your other hand, and using the heel of it, press it into the back of the first hand, and press down HARD, with both hands. The other method is to raise the two lift handles (the ones without the long chrome hinges) straight up and GENTLY press them towards each other. You have to do this slowly and gently to avoid breaking the latches. If you cannot get it unstuck, please call our Consumer Relations Team at 1-800-322-1266.BREX

We purchased a new Marineland 60gallon  Aquarium Ensemble.  The stands interior shelf  behind the doors, has a maximum height of 14".   Does Marineland, or any manufacturer, make a canister filter that will fit?  Help!  Not well throughout!

Asked by: Lmjyahoo
Marineland does not make one for that tank, no, and to our knowledge, there is not a canister on the market that would be short enough, with tubing, etc. If this is the 60 gallon Heartland Ensemble, it was created for a certain niche market.BREX

My Marineland 360 has lost it's prime. What's the best way to regain prime without breaking the whole canister down?

Asked by: syno321
Good morning,Thank you for your inquiry. Technically, we would recommend that you clean the entire canister (impeller especially) as there may be debris that is clogging the system from working properly. When you are getting ready to reinstall the pump, please fill the canister completely full of water, then attach the motor head and valve block. Open the valve block up, plug the filter into an outlet, and then hit your primer button. This is a simplified version to prime the canister.MINI

Hello, my filter works but stops without reason. Is a Canister Filter 360.

Asked by: FrancoGallardo
The first thing we would recommend is removing the motorhead, opening the impeller chamber, taking out the impeller and cleaning it thoroughly. You should also take a q tip and thoroughly clean out the chamber in which the impeller sits. Also, clean each port of the valve block. There are the two that the tubing connects to, but there are also two more on the underside. These can get clogged with sludge, preventing water movement.BREX
