Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't last This light came with the 20 gallon starter kit. Worked okay for the first little bit, then some lights stopped working. It eventually completely failed (switch) after 3 years. Looking for a replacement top/canopy now as I refuse to spend $60 on another one of these.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't work great in the beginning I bought my 20g fish tank just over a year ago. The hood I got not only had broken clips but the led switch worked only half the time also. More recently I have had trouble with the light in particular as at first the light would not turn off and would stay in the "moon" setting for all three switches. Now it doesn't work at all. I was looking at purchasing a new led but it seems like other lights have better reviews. I'm very unhappy with the quality of the light. although when it did work it was fantastic, being that it lasts less than a year shows its true quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unreliable I have gone through three of these in less than one year. Used them on a small QT tank, but the unit is extremely fragile and prone to rusting. Would never use them again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from awesome until it stopped working Bought it June 2014 died last week not worth the money if it doesn't even last long..

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't last This is my second unit in 18 months. The lights still work just fine, but the plug stopped working as verified by using a spare i had for another piece of equipment. I unfortunately will have to look for a new hood as mine is made for this light. Disappointed as when it works, it's pretty fantastic.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Switch stopped working I haven't been able to find a place to replace this unit yet but was disappointed that it broke. I only turn it on in the morning and off at night. Very light use and now stopped working. Sometimes it will turn on all on its own.

Do you also sell the LED board separately? I use 2 of these on my 45 gallon tank and after a while the LED lights on one side appear to be strikingly less bright, although purchased at the same time. Don't see the need to replace the whole thing. Thanks!

Asked by: Scayce
No, we sure don't. If they are still within the one-year warranty, we would simply replace them per the warranty. Please call in if this is the case, 1-800-322-1266.BREX

Will this light work for a 34 gal hexagon with low light plants like anubias and Java ferns?

Asked by: Theo25
That will depend on the height of your tank, but most likely, no. This is not a plant light at all, only a natural daylight for fish. In a shallow tank, it could potentially give out enough light for low light plants.BREX

Was wondering if anyone knew if this Would this be okay for a 30 gallon reef salt water tank

Asked by: Reeftank
No, this is not the right PAR, Kelvin, etc, for a reef tank. You would want the Reef LED which is suitable for marine fish, live rock, and soft corals.BREX

I just re-set up my aquarium (30g tall moon) but can't find the power cord for this light.  Is there a way to get a replacement cord?

Asked by: Scott k
Unfortunately, no, that would not be available separately, you would need to purchase a new light.BREX

How many WATTS is this light overall? What are the WAVELENGTHS in NM of the white and blue LEDS? Or,  what is the degrees KELVIN of the white lights?

Asked by: Dragon9
The kelvin rating on all of them is 6000 K. The watts, PAR and Lux varies, depending on the size light, and the depth of water. The nm have not been measured since this is meant to be a standard fish only light and not designed for saltwater corals or live freshwater plants. It will accommodate some low light to moderate light freshwater plants.BREX
