The Marineland® Brand designs our filter cartridges to meet the absolute highest standards of water purification, performance, and operational ease. Each pre-assembled cartridge slides easily into place, providing superior mechanical and chemical filtration, and making replacement fast, dry and effortless. The cartridge mechanically filters water through a pad of double thick poly-fiber.  Debris and waste particles are trapped, and water is chemically filtered through Marineland Black Diamond® Premium Activated Carbon.

Inside the cartridge, a patented ribbed backing ensures even distribution of activated carbon to deliver maximum water-to-carbon contact.  The result?  Crystal clear, crystal clean water.

Rite-Size A fits Penguin 100B, Mini, and 99B.
Rite-Size B fits Penguin 150B, 110B, and 125B.
Rite-Size C fits Penguin 200B, 350B, 170B, and 330B.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I have been running these my Marineland 350's (6) for quite awhile and they are still going strong and doing a good job. The cartridges are good and are reusable. I clean mine in tank water and drop them back in the filter housing. I use the refillable media cartridge in the second slot on each side for whatever chemicals if needed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not impressed I had issues with Aerobic bacteria in my aquarium. After months of unresolved attempts (per professional suggestions) at resolving the problem, I got rid of the Marineland filter/biowheel system. After performing another partial water change, I replaced it with another brand, after approximately 7-10 days, I had nice crystal clear water. I've been using the same system now for 2 years and couldn't be happier. I'm not allowed to name the other brand, but it's also advertised on this site.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I hop they never discontinue My water is perfect in PH......what else can I ask. I use two pumps per tank. One in the smaller one. I made a mistake with some substrate and the waster was milk. Within about an hour the tank was just about to normal. I love that this helps me with the effort of keeping a clean crystal PH balanced tank. Thank-you

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to Change Changing the filter is easy. I actually wash my filter out and reuse them a few times.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Carbon and filter floss should be separated! This filter pad is pretty good. The instructions say to remove the filter pad every month but this removes a majority of the beneficial bacteria colony. Doing this will crash your aquarium and wastes will not be broken down, killing your fish. To prevent this, add a new filter pad allong with your original one and remove the original one after a week of adding the new one. Marineland should separate the filter floss and the activate carbon into two separate cartridges since activated carbon is fully saturated 3-4 weeks after beejng placed in the aquarium filter. After the carbon is fully saturated, it will leech what it absorbed back into your tank. And filter floss should never be changed unless it's breaking. If it gets too filthy. Fill a bucket with tank water and swish the pad around until the crud comes off. This will preserve your bacteria colony.
